Ross Township is a township in Roseau County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 454 at the 2000 census. The unincorporated community of Fox is located within Ross Township. The unincorporated community of Ross is located in adjacent Dieter Township. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 35.8 square miles (92.7 km), all land. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 454 people, 158 households, and 125 families residing in the township. The population density was 12.7 people per square mile (4.9/km). There were 161 housing units at an average density of 4.5/sq mi (1.7/km). Ross Township is a township in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 2,719 at the 2020 census. History One of the first white settlers in modern-day Ross Township was Daniel Devore in 1793. He was followed by a Connecticut settler named Abram Kitchen in 1795. Timothy, Aaron, and Jacob Meeker settled west of Grassy Pond the following year. Additional settlers followed in their footsteps. The first schoolhouse was built in 1820. Ross Township was formed in January 1842 from Lehman and Union Townships; it was named in honor of General William S. Ross (who was a Luzerne County Judge at the time). In 1843, John A. Ross Township is a township in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. The township is adjacent to the northern border of Pittsburgh. While most of the township is residential, a retail corridor is located along McKnight Road along with business districts on US Route 19 and Babcock Boulevard. The population of the township was 31,105 at the 2010 census. Ross Township, along with the nearby borough of West View, comprises part of the North Hills School District, and both participate in the multi-municipality Northland Public Library. History On June 26, 1809, John McKnight, along with 30 other residents of Pine Township petitioned the courts of Allegheny for the formation of a new township. Northwood is a city and eastern suburb in Wood County, Ohio, United States, within the Toledo metropolitan area. The population was 5,265 at the 2010 census. History Northwood was originally Ross Township. It was the northernmost township in Wood County from its establishment on April 18, 1874 until December 1, 1962. Farms, gardens, orchards, and railroads covered the area located just south of east Toledo. In 1898 Edward Ford's glass factory was built along the Maumee River, which ultimately led to the incorporation of the village of Rossford in 1939 within the western portion of the township. Ross Township was then divided so that Rossford Township would serve as a barrier between Rossford and the remaining Ross Township. On December 1, 1962, Ross Township ceased to exist when it became incorporated as the city of Northwood, so aptly named because of its location at the top of Wood County. Mountrail County is a county in the northwestern part of North Dakota, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population was 9,809. Its county seat is Stanley. The county was originally created in 1873, then removed in 1892, annexed by Ward County. It was re-created and organized in 1909. History The Dakota Territory legislature created the county (as Mountraille County) on January 4, 1873, with area annexed from Buffalo County. It was not organized at that time, nor was it attached to another county for administrative or judicial purposes. The new county lost territory in 1885 when a portion was annexed off to create Garfield County (now extinct). This situation continued until February 21, 1891, when Mountrail County was attached to Ward County, for "judicial and other purposes".
