Ross King (hurler)
Ross King (born 16 August 1993) is an Irish hurler who plays for Laois Senior Championship club Rathdowney–Errill and at inter-county level with the Laois senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a left corner-forward. Career King first came to prominence as a member of the Rathdowney–Errill club at juvenile and underage levels. He eventually joined the club's senior team and has since won County Championship titles in 2012, 2014 and 2019. He simultaneously played with University College Dublin in the Fitzgibbon Cup, having earlier won a Collingwood Cup medal as a soccer player. King made his first appearances at inter-county level during a three-year stint with the Laois under-21 team. He joined the Laois senior hurling team in 2014 and was at corner-forward when Laois secured the 2019 Joe McDonagh Cup title. Rathdowney–Errill GAA
Rathdowney–Errill GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association hurling club in County Laois, Ireland. The club colours are green and red. The club was created in 2005 by the complete amalgamation at all levels of hurling of neighbouring clubs Errill and Rathdowney. Both the Rathdowney and Errill Clubs remain as separate football clubs competing in the Laois Junior B Football Championship. History Prior to the foundation of the Errill GAA Club in 1928, players from Errill and surrounding areas played their hurling with Rathdowney. In the 1970s and 1980s, both Rathdowney and Errill joined forces at Minor and Under 21 level, competing in eight minor finals, including seven in a row from 1976 to 1982. This amalgamation proved successful winning a total of five Laois Minor Hurling Championship titles, including a four in a row 1976–1979. 2019 Joe McDonagh Cup
The 2019 Joe McDonagh Cup was the second staging of the Joe McDonagh Cup since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 2018. The fixtures were announced on 11 October 2018. The competition began on 11 May 2019 and ended on 30 June 2019. On 30 June 2019, Laois won the Joe McDonagh Cup following a 3-26 to 1-21 defeat of Westmeath in the final at Croke Park. This was their first ever Joe McDonagh Cup title. Offaly were relegated from the Joe McDonagh Cup after losing all of their group stage games. Westmeath's Killian Doyle was the competition's top scorer with 3-61. Charles Dwyer
Charles "Cha" Dwyer (born 1994) is an Irish hurler who plays as a left wing-forward for the Laois senior team. Born in Ballinakill, County Laois, Dwyer first played competitive hurling during his schooling at Castlecomer Community School. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Laois minor team before later joining the under-21 side. He made his senior debut during the 2013 league. Dwyer subsequently became a regular member of the starting fifteen. The GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior Championship, known simply as the All-Ireland Championship, is an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). The Joe McDonagh Cup is an annual Inter county, inter-county hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). The National Hurling League is an annual Inter county, inter-county hurling competition featuring teams from Ireland and England. Founded in 1925 by the Gaelic Athletic Association, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation within the league system. The league has 35 teams divided into six divisions, with either five or six teams in each division. Promotion and relegation between these divisions is a central feature of the league. UCD GAA or University College Dublin Gaelic Athletic Association club is a Dublin based Gaelic games club in University College Dublin. The UCD hurling club was founded in 1900 and boasted the mottos "Ad Astra" and "Cothrom Féinne".
