Ross Dunne
Ross 'Twiggy' Dunne (born 25 February 1948) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League, Victorian Football League (VFL). He became famous for kicking the goal in the dying minutes of the 1977 VFL Grand Final to draw the game. Nicknamed after the famous British Twiggy, model due to his slim frame, Dunne was a versatile, no-fuss player who spent much of his career at centre half-forward. Dunne made his senior VFL debut in the final round of the 1967 VFL season against at Moorabbin Oval, lining up on champion full back Bob Murray (Australian footballer), Bob Murray. 1967 VFL Season
The 1967 VFL season was the 71st season of the Victorian Football League (VFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Victoria. The season featured twelve clubs, ran from 15 April until 23 September, and comprised an 18-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top four clubs. The premiership was won by the Richmond Football Club for the sixth time, after it defeated by nine points in the 1967 VFL Grand Final. 1977 VFL Grand Final
The 1977 VFL Grand Final was a series of two Australian rules football matches between the North Melbourne Football Club and the Collingwood Football Club. Together they are considered the 80th and 81st grand finals of the Victorian Football League and were staged to determine the premiers for the 1977 VFL season. The premiership is usually decided by a single match; however, as the first grand final ended in a draw, a grand final replay was played the following week and was won by North Melbourne. Both grand finals were held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The first was held on 24 September 1977. Bob Murray (Australian Footballer)
Robert W. "Bob" Murray (born 5 April 1942) is a former Australian rules footballer in the VFL. Murray played with St Kilda initially as a forward, kicking four goals on debut, but soon moved to full-back. He starred in St Kilda's 1966 Grand Final win, taking a mark in defence with seconds left in the game. He won the Trevor Barker Award as St Kilda's best and fairest player in 1969. Carl Ditterich
Carl Robert Ditterich (born 10 October 1945) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the St Kilda Football Club and Melbourne Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL). He also coached Melbourne for two years, as a playing coach. Ditterich, known as the "Blonde Bombshell", made an impressive debut as a 17-year-old for St Kilda against Melbourne in the opening round of the 1963 VFL season, with his speed, high leaping and endurance noted. He became a tough ruckman and often appeared at the VFL Tribunal, in particular missing St Kilda's only premiership victory in 1966 through suspension.
