Ross Bekkering
Ross Bekkering (born August 19, 1987) is a former Canadian-Dutch professional basketball player. Bekkering played in the Dutch Basketball League. Bekkering is the younger brother of Henry Bekkering, who was a professional basketball player as well. He played collegiately for Calgary, where he played five years. In 2010, he started his professional career in the Netherlands with ZZ Leiden, winning the Dutch Basketball League in his rookie year. The following year, he signed with Matrixx Magixx. After one year he returned to Leiden, where he won another DBL title in 2013. Afterwards, he played three years with league rival Donar, where he added two more championships. He retired in 2016. Four years after his retirement, in 2020, Bekkering played 3x3 basketball for the Netherlands national team. He represented the country at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. The power forward (PF), also known as the four or strong forward, is a position in basketball. Power forwards play a role similar to centers. When on offense, they typically play with their backs towards the basket. NBB Cup
The Basketball Cup, formerly the NBB Cup ( nl, NBB-Beker), is an annual cup competition for Dutch basketball teams organised by the Basketball Nederland. Every team in the Netherlands can participate by signing up for the preliminary rounds. Professional basketball teams from the Dutch Basketball League (DBL) enter the tournament in the fourth round. From 1977 until 1990 professional teams were not allowed to participate in the competition. The tournament is organized in a knock-out format, with quarter- and semi-finals being two-legged series while the final is played in a single game. Heroes Den Bosch and Donar are the two clubs with the most cup titles, as both have a total of 7 titles. Arvin Slagter
Arvin Slagter (born 19 September 1985) is a Dutch basketball player who plays for the Netherlands men's national 3x3 team. Slagter also played for several other Dutch 5vs5 teams in his career, including Rotterdam, Bergen op Zoom, Leiden and Groningen. Slagter usually plays the point guard or shooting guard position and is also a member of the Dutch national basketball team since 2006. He is currently a member of the 3X3 Dutch National Team. 3x3 basketball (pronounced ''three-ex-three'') is a variation of basketball played three-a-side, with one backboard and in a half-court setup. Donar, also known as Donar Groningen, is a professional basketball club based in Groningen, Netherlands. The club competes in the BNXT League and its home arena is MartiniPlaza, which has a seating capacity of 4,350 people. Hendrik "Henry" Bekkering (born November 26, 1985) is a Canadian former professional basketball player who holds a Dutch passport as well. Bekkering is the elder brother of Ross Bekkering, who is a professional basketball player as well. College career Bekkering initially attended Eastern Washington University in the United States where he played both basketball and American football as a placekicker before leaving to return to Canada to attend the University of Calgary and play for the Dinos; he was drafted in the fifth round of 2007 CFL Draft by the Calgary Stampeders but ultimately did not play professional Canadian football. DBL All-Star
The Dutch Basketball League All-Star Gala was a yearly basketball event in the Netherlands, organised by the Federatie Eredivisie Basketball (FEB). During the event the yearly All-Star Game was played, which included the best players of a given DBL season. Additionally, a dunk Contest and three-point contest were also held at the event. Since the 2017–18 season, the event is no longer organised by the FEB.
