Rosita Quiroga
Rosa Rodríguez Quiroga de Capiello (January 16, 1896 in Buenos Aires – October 16, 1984), better known as Rosita Quiroga, was an Argentine singer, lyricist and composer. She was the first woman tango singer from the poorer side of Buenos Aires, but is remembered primarily for performing the first song recorded in Argentina, '' La musa mistonga''. Biography Quiroga was born 16 January 1896, or 13 January 1899, in 1901, or 16 January 1901. A leading tango singer after 1920, her style, known as '' canyengue'' reflected on the less affluent side of the city. She recorded her first album in 1923, entitled ''Siempre criolla''. Argentine tango is a musical genre and accompanying social dance originating at the end of the 19th century in the suburbs of Buenos Aires. It typically has a or rhythmic time signature, and two or three parts repeating in patterns such as ABAB or ABCAC. Its lyrics are marked by ''nostalgia'', sadness, and laments for lost love. Libertad Lamarque Bouza (; 24 November 1908 – 12 December 2000) was a Mexican-Argentine actress and singer, one of the icons of the Golden Age of Argentine and Mexican cinema. Enrique Maciel (July 13, 1897 – January 24, 1962) was a versatile and sensitive composer, lyricist, and harmonium, piano, bandoneon and guitar performer. The latter is the instrument that identified him permanently in the memory of tango listeners.
