Roseneath is an outer suburb of Townsville in the City of Townsville, Queensland, Australia. In the , Roseneath had a population of 154 people. Geography Most of Roseneath forms the foothills of Mount Stuart and is mountainous terrain rising to unnamed peaks of up to 300 metres. It is mostly undeveloped bushland. The Flinders Highway (Stuart Drive) and the Great Northern Railway pass through the very eastern part of the locality (at times forming its boundary) which is the base of the mountain (about 30 metres above sea level) near to Stuart Creek (which forms part of the eastern boundary of the locality). The small residential area is mostly located east of the highway and railway beside Stuart Creek but there are a small number of the homes immediately to the west of the highway and railway. Murray is a suburb of Townsville in the City of Townsville, Queensland, Australia. In the , Murray had a population of 1,491 people. It is not a conventional suburb, with the developed land in the suburb being within the Australian Army's Lavarack Barracks. Geography The suburb is bounded by University Road to the north. Great Northern Railway (Mt Isa Line)
The Great Northern Railway is a railway line in Queensland, Australia. The line stretches nearly 1,000 kilometres linking the port city of Townsville, Australia to the mining town of Mount Isa in north-west Queensland. Along with a passenger service called the Inlander, it is a major freight route connecting the Mount Isa Mines to the Port of Townsville. Flinders Highway, Queensland
The Flinders Highway is a highway that crosses Queensland east to west, from Townsville on the Pacific coast to Cloncurry. The road continues as the Barkly Highway from Cloncurry to the Northern Territory border at Camooweal and beyond. The Flinders Highway passes a number of small outback towns and typical outback landscape predominates towards the inland. It was known as National Route 78 before Queensland began to convert to the alphanumeric system being adopted in Australia and is now designated as A6. The highway is also known as Overlanders Way. Mount Stuart is a mountain in the locality of Mount Stuart in the City of Townsville, Queensland, Australia. It overlooks Townsville with an elevation of 584 metres. It was named for Clarendon Stuart (1833–1912), from 1859 Townsville's first district surveyor. Mount Stuart is a locality in the City of Townsville, Queensland, Australia. In the , Mount Stuart had no population. Geography The Ross River forms the western boundary of the locality. The Ross River Dam is at the south-west of the locality which forms Lake Ross which is the south-western boundary of the locality. The terrain is mountainous rising to the peak of Mount Stuart (584 metres) (). There is a lookout at the top of the mountain with views over the Townsville area.
