Sam Long (baseball)
Samuel Trenton Long (born July 8, 1995) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played college baseball at California State University, Sacramento. He was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 18th round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft. In 2018, at 23 years of age, he stopped playing baseball for a year and explored becoming a firefighter. He made his MLB debut in 2021. High school and college Long was born and raised in Fair Oaks, California. Long first attended Rosemont High School, for which he played baseball for two seasons. He then attended Del Campo High School in Carmichael, California as a junior and senior. He was all-league in baseball in 2012. Water polo is a competitive team sport played in water between two teams of seven players each. The game consists of four quarters in which the teams attempt to score goals by throwing the ball into the opposing team's goal. The team with the most goals at the end of the game wins the match.
