Rosemary Chukwuma
Rosemary Chukwuma (born 5 December 2001) is a Nigerian sprinter. She won a bronze medal in the metres relay at the 2018 Commonwealth Games as well as a gold medal in the metres relay at the 2019 African Games. In 2018, she won a gold medal in the 100 metres at the Summer Youth Olympics, clocking 11.17 seconds. Career Rosemary Chukwuma gained her first international experience at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia where she won a bronze medal behind the teams from England and Jamaica with the Nigerian relay team in 42.75 seconds. In the summer she won a gold medal with the relay team at the 2018 African Championships in Asaba but did not start over the 200 m event. Earlier, she won double gold at the 2018 African Youth Games in Algiers over 100 m and 200 m and thus qualified for the Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, where she won the 100 m gold medal. Ebonyi State
Ebonyi State ( ig, Ȯra Ebonyi) is a state in the South-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria, bordered to the north and northeast by Benue State, Enugu State to the west, Cross River State to the east and southeast, and Abia State to the southwest. The African Youth Games is an international multi-sport event held every four years to complement the current Africa Games. The first games was hosted by Rabat, Morocco. This international sportive event has been created by Lassana Palenfo, current director of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa. Rabat
Rabat (, also , ; ar, الرِّبَاط, er-Ribât; ber, ⵕⵕⴱⴰⵟ, ṛṛbaṭ) is the capital city of Morocco and the country's seventh largest city with an urban population of approximately 580,000 (2014) and a metropolitan population of over 1.2 million. 2019 African Games
The 12th African Games was held from 19 to 31 August 2019 in Rabat, Morocco. This was the first time that the African Games were hosted by Morocco following the country's readmission to the African Union in January 2017. Bidding process The 12th African Games was schedule in September 2019. Accra, Nairobi and Lusaka announced that they would bid for these Games, but none of them were selected. Malabo, Equatorial Guinea was initially chosen to organise the 2019 African Games at the Second Ordinary Session of the Specialist Technical Committee on Youth, Culture and Sports, which was held at the headquarters of the African Union, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 13 to 17 June 2016. However, Equatorial Guinea was unable to host the Games due to economic problems. Lusaka, the capital of Zambia was later speculated to host the Games but refused, citing lack of facilities. Asaba, Delta
Asaba is the capital city of Delta State, Nigeria. It is located at the western bank of the Niger River, in the Oshimili South Local Government Area. Asaba had a population of 149,603 as at the 2006 census, and a metropolitan population of over half a million people. Asaba is well known for social activities and amenities such as hotels, clubs, cinemas, malls, event centre, etc. It holds a yearly program named Delta Yaddah which always hosts a series of gospel singers among others. Due to its large population, the crime rate is high. Pickpocketing, robbery, etc., are rampant. Because of the presence of foreigners in the state, the cost of living is high in Asaba.
