Xindian District
Xindian District () is an inner city district in the southern part of New Taipei City, Taiwan. Name Xindian's name originated during the Qing Dynasty close to 300 years ago. According to legend, a person named Lin and others came from Quanzhou, Fujian Province. On a mountain road leading to Wulai, they built a small cabin and opened a store selling groceries for the exchange of goods with mountain aborigines. Since the store had no formal name, travelers called it ''Sintiam'' (). An area usually not considered as part of Xindian is ''Ankeng'' (), although it is within the jurisdiction of the district, located in a valley on the west side of the Xindian Creek. It was originally called ''Amkhe'ar'' (), due to luxurious vegetation in the area. However, it was later decided to be indecent and the name was changed to ''Ankeng'' (). Ankeng Light Rail
The Ankeng light rail () (code K) is a light rail transit (LRT) line in Xindian District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. The route begins in Shuangcheng light rail station, Shuangcheng, terminating at Shisizhang station, Shisizhang where it links with the Circular line (Taipei Metro), Circular line. The line is known in the New Taipei Metro system as the Khaki line, or line K. It opened on 10 February 2023 and began service the following day. The rolling stock for the line is produced in Taiwan. The trams on the Ankeng light rail are a partial battery-powered tram service, most likely the same type of trams used for the Danhai light rail. Shisizhang Metro Station
Shisizhang station is a station on the New Taipei Metro's Circular line. The station was opened on 31 January 2020. It is located in Xindian District, New Taipei, Taiwan, near the banks of the Xindian River. A depot for the Circular line is located directly adjacent the station. New Taipei City is a special municipality located in northern Taiwan. Pinyin
Hanyu Pinyin (), often shortened to just pinyin, is the official romanization system for Standard Mandarin Chinese in China, and to some extent, in Singapore and Malaysia. It is often used to teach Mandarin, normally written in Chinese form, to learners already familiar with the Latin alphabet.
