Rosa Taddei
Rosa Taddei (August 30, 1799 – March 3, 1869) was an Italian actress and poet. She was also known by her married name Rosa Mozzidolfi. Although she considered herself a Neapolitan, Taddei may have been born in Trento or Corato. She was the daughter of Francesco Taddei; her father, mother and brother Luigi were all actors. She was considered one of the most beautiful and talented tragic actors of her day. Taddei was best known as an " improvisatrice" or improvisational poet. Corato
Corato ( Barese: ) is a town and ''comune'' in Italy. It is located in the Metropolitan City of Bari, Apulia, in southeastern Italy. Founded by the Normans, it became subject to Alfonso V, king of Aragon, at the end of the 15th century, and later to the Carafa family. The Accademia degli Arcadi or Accademia dell'Arcadia, "Academy of Arcadia" or "Academy of the Arcadians", was an Italian literary academy founded in Rome in 1690. The full Italian official name was Pontificia Accademia degli Arcadi. History Foundation The beginnings of the Accademia degli Arcadi date to February 1656, when a literary circle formed under the patronage of Queen Christina of Sweden, who had abdicated the Swedish crown in 1654, converted to Catholicism, and taken up her residence in Rome, where she spent much of the rest of her life.
