Rosa Menkman
Rosa Menkman (born 1983) is a Dutch art theorist, curator, and visual artist specialising in glitch art and Image resolution, resolution theory. She investigates video compression, feedback, and glitches, using her exploration to generate art works. Menkman's ''The Collapse of PAL'' (2011), in which she acknowledges the end of PAL (Phase Alternating Line)—an analogue video programming structure—is the digital version of a live audio visual performance first performed on national Danish television and afterward realized at oa. Transmediale (Germany) and Nova festival (Brasil). Menkman has curated several international exhibitions of other artists' work. In 2019 Menkman won the Collide International Barcelona Award from CERN. Glitch art In 2011, Menkman published ''Network Notebook #04: The Glitch Moment(um)''. Arnhem
Arnhem ( or ; german: Arnheim; South Guelderish: ''Èrnem'') is a city and municipality situated in the eastern part of the Netherlands about 55 km south east of Utrecht. Transfer (stylized as TRANSFER) is an art gallery that opened in Brooklyn Brooklyn () is a borough of New York City, coextensive with Kings County, in the U.S. state of New York. Transfer moved to Los Angeles in June 2019, but then its physical location closed and the gallery pivoted to a virtual one. Transfer was co-founded by Kelani Nichole and Jereme Mongeon. Nichole, an independent curator, currently serves as the gallery's director. Transfer was created to help online artists become more connected in a physical way. The gallery's objective is to allow online artists to literally "transfer" their art into a physical context using four blank walls. A glitch is a short-lived fault in a system, such as a transient fault that corrects itself, making it difficult to troubleshoot. The term is particularly common in the computing and electronics industries, in circuit bending, as well as among players of video games. More generally, all types of systems including human organizations and nature experience glitches. A glitch, which is slight and often temporary, differs from a more serious bug which is a genuine functionality-breaking problem.
