Biak is an island located in Cenderawasih Bay near the northern coast of Papua (province), Papua, an Indonesian province, and is just northwest of New Guinea. The indigenous peoples of West Papua in Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, commonly called Papuans, are Melanesians.
