Ronny Meixner
Ronny Meixner (born February 27, 1964) is a German racing driver and the founder of VICI Racing. Racing career Meixner started his auto racing career in Formula Ford & Formula Renault going on to sports cars with Porsche Carrera Cup. 1993 Success In 1993 he raced in ADAC GT Cup with Porsche Carrera RSR. That year Meixner also won the Daytona 24 Hours GT Class driving a Porsche 964 Cup from VICI Racing's private Porsche entry beating factory opposition. He shared the car with Enzo Calderari and Luigino Pagotto. The car led for the last 17 of the 24 hours and won with an hour's advantage over the next finisher. The trio then finished 4th in GT in the 12 Hours of Sebring. Also that year Meixner competed in the Le Mans 24 hour in Porsche 962C for the factory supported Joest Racing Porsche team. Road Atlanta (known for sponsorship reasons as Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta) is a road course located just north of Braselton, Georgia, United States. The facility is utilized for a wide variety of events, including professional and amateur sports car and motorcycle races, racing and driving schools, corporate programs and testing for motorsports teams. The track has 12 turns, including the famous " esses" between turns three and five; and Turn 12, a downhill, diving turn. David Donohue (born January 5, 1967 in Morristown, New Jersey) is an American race car driver formerly active in the Grand-Am's Rolex Sports Car Series Daytona Prototype class for Action Express Racing and participant in the Pikes Peak races. Career The son of racing legend Mark Donohue, David Donohue has accomplished much in a wide variety of auto racing series and classes, including NASCAR's Busch Series and Craftsman Truck Series, as well as winning the GT2 class at the 1998 running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Porsche 911 GT2 is a high-performance, track-focused sports car built by the German automobile manufacturer Porsche from 1993 to 2009, and then since 2010 as the GT2 RS. It is based on the 911 Turbo, and uses a similar twin-turbocharged engine, but features numerous upgrades, including engine enhancements, larger brakes, and stiffer suspension calibration. The GT2 is significantly lighter than the Turbo due to its use of rear-wheel-drive instead of all-wheel-drive system and the reduction or removal of interior components. Champion Racing was a sports car racing team based in Pompano Beach, Florida, USA. Founded in 1994 by Dave Maraj, a former rally driver from Trinidad, as the motorsport wing of the Champion Motors car dealership, the team has campaigned various Porsches and Audis in North American road racing series.
