Ronnie Warner
Ronnie Warner is an American actor, writer, producer and director. He is best known for his roles as Rico in the stoner comedy ''Puff, Puff, Pass'' and the gangster, Dude, in '' This Christmas''. Early life Warner grew up in Hillsborough, North Carolina, where he was raised by his grandparents. At the age of 13, he moved to Reston, Virginia, with his mother. Career After leaving the United States Marine Corps, he worked as a waiter in a local comedy club in North Carolina, which he bought a year later. He brought Martin Lawrence to town and opened up a show with Ken Jeong, who was then a med school student. Warner eventually earned televised spots on BET's ''ComicView'' and ''Showtime at the Apollo''. In 1999, he moved to Los Angeles and landed acting gigs on shows such as ''The Shield'', '' Joan of Arcadia'' and '' Threshold'', in addition to minor writing assignments for BET. ''Threshold'' is an American science fiction drama television series that first aired on CBS in September 2005. Produced by Brannon Braga, David S. Goyer and David Heyman, the series focuses on a secret government project investigating the first contact with an extraterrestrial species. The series was first shown on Friday nights, but was moved to Tuesday in an effort to boost ratings. This plan backfired, with the show registering a sharp drop in its ratings on its first Tuesday night showing on November 22, 2005, and CBS canceled the series on November 23, 2005, with four episodes left unaired. ''A Cut Above'' is a folk album by June Tabor and Martin Simpson released in 1980 on Topic Records, catalogue number 12TS410. The album was re-released on CD in UK on Topic Records in 1989 and was released on Green Linnet in the US in 1992. "Grindin'" is the debut single from Virginia Beach rap duo Clipse. The song was produced by The Neptunes, and featured on the Clipse's debut album, ''Lord Willin'''. The song became a summer Top 40 hit, reaching number 30 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 on the issue dated August 10, 2002. The song's beat was far more sparse in its percussive drum and woodblock arrangement than most popular hip-hop tracks at the time, predating later sparse Neptunes productions like Snoop Dogg's " Drop It Like It's Hot" that would further capitalize and expand on this style.
