Ron Evans
Ronald Barry Evans AM (7 July 1939 – 9 March 2007) was an Australian rules footballer, Chairman of the Australian Football League (AFL) from 1998 to 2007, as well as President of the Essendon Football Club from 1988 to 1992. Education Evans was educated at Caulfield Grammar School in Melbourne, where he was a classmate of linguist Michael Clyne, businessman Ron Walker, and 1960 Brownlow Medal winner John Schultz. He played full-forward in Caulfield Grammar's First XVIII, a team which also contained two other future VFL players: Ron Cabble who played with Hawthornand Western Bulldogs, Footscray's John Schultz. Michael Clyne
Michael George Clyne, AM, FAHA, FASSA (12 October 1939 – 29 October 2010) was an Australian linguist, academic and intellectual. He was a scholar in various fields of linguistics, including sociolinguistics, pragmatics, bilingualism and multilingualism, second language learning, contact linguistics and intercultural communication. Biography Clyne was born on 12 October 1939 in Prahran, Melbourne. He was the only child of the Jewish Austrian couple Johannes Jacob and Edith Cecily Clyne who had left their home country after the ''Anschluss''. Collingwood Football Club

1959 VFL Season
The 1959 VFL season was the 63rd season of the Victorian Football League (VFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Victoria. The season featured twelve clubs, ran from 18 April until 26 September, and comprised an 18-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top four clubs. The premiership was won by the Melbourne Football Club for the tenth time, after it defeated by 37 points in the 1959 VFL Grand Final. Premiership season In 1959, the VFL competition consisted of twelve teams of 18 on-the-field players each, plus two substitute players, known as the 19th man and the 20th man. A player could be substituted for any reason; however, once substituted, a player could not return to the field of play under any circumstances. Charlie Payne
Charles James Payne (born 13 November 1944) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Essendon in the VFL. Payne started his VFL career in 1962 as a forward, at the age of just 17, topping Essendon's goalkicking in his first two seasons, with 39 and 36 goals respectively. He was at full-forward in Essendon's 1962 premiership side but played in the back pocket in their premiership three years later. He would remain in defence for most of his career but was also used as a follower. Dick Reynolds
Richard Sylvannus Reynolds (20 June 1915 – 2 September 2002) was an Australian rules footballer who played for the Essendon Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Reynolds is one of four footballers to have won three Brownlow Medals, the others being Haydn Bunton Sr., Bob Skilton and Ian Stewart. Essendon District Football League
The Essendon District Football League (EDFL) is a professional Australian rules football league competition based in Essendon, Victoria, consisting of teams based in the north-west suburbs of Melbourne. Founded in 1930, the men's competition consists of three leagues: Premier Division, Division 1 and Division 2, with 10 clubs in the Premier Division and Division 1 nine in Division 2. Promotion and relegation between these divisions occurs, with the lowest-placed clubs in the Premier Division and Division 1 being relegated at the end of each season. Clubs which win the Division 1 and Division 2 premierships are automatically promoted. Each men's team also fields a reserves side and an under-19 side that play a fixture mirroring that of the senior side. Ronald James Cabble (born 10 February 1938) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Hawthorn in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Family The son of William James Cabble (1903-1960), and Ruby Fleetwood Cabble (1905-2003), née Croft, Ronald James Cabble was born on 10 February 1938.
