Ron Duprat
Ron Duprat (born August 22, 1972) is an American celebrity chef, television star, and author. Career Duprat started his career as a dishwasher and first came to the United States when he was 16-year-old via boat from Haiti to Florida in a 27 days journey. Duprat pursued his education in Paris, France, at La Varenne Ecole Decuisine and in the United States at the Culinary Institute of America. His specialty is combining rich Caribbean heritage flavors with French accents. Duprat wrote his own book called ''My Journey of Cooking'' and was appointed as a culinary ambassador by the State Department. Duprat appeared on multiple culinary related shows and is best known as one of the top competitors on Bravo TV's ''Top Chef''. The Culinary Institute Of America
The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) is a private culinary school with its primary campus in Hyde Park, New York, and branch campuses in St. Helena and Napa, California; San Antonio, Texas; and Singapore. ''Iron Chef America'' is an American cooking show based on Fuji Television's ''Iron Chef'', and is the second American adaptation of the series, following the failed ''Iron Chef USA'' that aired in 2001. ''Beat Bobby Flay'' is an American cooking competition show on the Food Network. It features various chefs competing against Bobby Flay. The show is taped in front of a live audience. Let's Move! is a public health campaign in the United States led by First Lady Michelle Obama. The campaign aimed to reduce childhood obesity and encourage a healthy lifestyle in children. The initiative had the initially stated goal of "solving the challenge of childhood obesity within a generation so that children born today will reach adulthood at a healthy weight". Let's Move! sought to decrease childhood obesity to 5% by 2030. Despite its goal, the Let's Move! initiative did not cause a decline in obesity rates. In 2008, 68% of Americans were either overweight or obese. By 2016, that number jumped to 71.2%.
