Romeo Fernandes (born 6 July 1992) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a winger for Indian Super League club East Bengal. Early life and education Romeo Fernandes was born on 6 July 1992 in Assolna, Goa. He did his schooling at Regina Martyrum High School. Career Dempo Romeo was scouted by Dempo youth team scout Joaquim Crasto in 2010, joining the club's youth team the same year. He was a key player for the Dempo's youth teams at U18, U19 and U20 levels. Dempo loaned out Romeo to Margao SC in the Goa Second Division where he helped Margao to promotion to the Goa Professional League in 2011. India National Under-23 Football Team
The India national under-23 football team represents India in international under-23 football and is controlled by the All India Football Federation (AIFF). A member of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), the team is eligible to compete in the Summer Olympic Games, the AFC U-23 Asian Cup, and the Asian Games, subject to qualification. Since only allowing under-23 sides to compete in the Olympic Games in 1992, India have never qualified for the summer games. Joaquim Abranches (born 28 October 1985) is an Indian professional football player who last played as a winger for Dempo S.C. in the Goa Professional League. Club career Dempo Hailing from Verna, Goa, Abranches was only 19 years old when he signed for Dempo S.C. For the next three years he was used in the Goa Professional League where he made a name for himself scoring some vital goals. 2014–15 Indian Federation Cup
The 2014–15 Indian Federation Cup, also known as the Hero Federation Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the 36th edition of the Federation Cup, the main national football cup competition in India. Ten of the eleven I-League clubs participated in the tournament the season with Bharat FC being the excluded club. Churchill Brothers were the reigning champions of the Federation Cup, having won the tournament in 2014, however, due to failing to pass the licensing criteria for the I-League, they were unable to defend their title. All matches including the semi final and final were played in Goa. The final was played between Dempo and Bengaluru FC on 11 January 2015.
