Rome Prize
The Rome Prize is awarded by the American Academy in Rome, in Rome, Italy. Approximately thirty scholars and artists are selected each year to receive a study fellowship at the academy. Prizes have been awarded annually since 1921, with a hiatus during the World War II years, from 1942 to 1949. Baldric Of The American Academy In Rome
A baldric (also baldrick, bawdrick, bauldrick as well as other rare or obsolete variations) is a belt (clothing), belt worn over one shoulder that is typically used to carry a weapon (usually a sword) or other implement such as a bugle (instrument), bugle or drum. The word may also refer to any belt in general, but this usage is poetic or archaic. In modern contexts, Drum major (military), military drum majors usually wear a baldric. Usage Baldrics have been used since ancient times, usually as part of military dress. The design offers more support for weight than a standard waist belt, without restricting movement of the arms, and while allowing easy access to the object carried. The American Music Awards (AMAs) is an annual American music awards show, generally held in the fall, created by Dick Clark in 1973 for ABC when the network's contract to air the Grammy Awards expired, and currently produced by Dick Clark Productions.
