Rome-Paris-Rome
''Rome-Paris-Rome'' ( it, Signori, in carrozza!) is a 1951 French-Italian comedy film directed by Luigi Zampa and starring Aldo Fabrizi, Sophie Desmarets and Peppino De Filippo. It was shot at the Farnesina Studios in Rome and on location in Paris. The film's sets were designed by the art director Enrico Ciampi. Plot Vicenzo works as an attendant on the sleeping cars between Rome and Paris. For several years he has had two families, a wife and scrounging Neapolitan brother-in-law in Rome and an attractive widow with a young daughter in Paris whose existence he has managed to keep secret from the other. When he is offered the chance to work permanently at one location he chooses Paris, but complications ensue when his brother-in-law follows him to the French capital. Peppino De Filippo
Peppino De Filippo (born Giuseppe De Filippo; 24 August 1903 – 27 January 1980) was an Italian actor. De Filippo was born in Naples, brother of actor and dramatist Eduardo De Filippo and of Titina De Filippo. He made his stage debut at the age of six. He played in several movies such as ''Rome-Paris-Rome'', ''Variety Lights'', ''A Day in Court'', '' Ferdinand I, King of Naples'' and ''Boccaccio '70''. He is however most remembered for his several artistic partnerships with Totò, on movies such as ''Totò, Peppino e la malafemmina'' and '' La banda degli onesti''. He died in Rome at age 76. Luigi Zampa
Luigi Zampa (2 January 1905 – 16 August 1991) was an Italian film director. Biography Son of a worker, Zampa studied filmmaking from 1932 to 1937 at the Italian film school Centro sperimentale di cinematografia in Rome. He directed several Italian neorealism films in the 1940s. In 1949 he filmed ''Alarm Bells'' on Ischia, and also shot a separate British version under the title '' Children of Chance''. During the 1950s and 1960s, he became a director of several successful films belonging to the Commedia all'italiana genre, some starring Alberto Sordi. Eraldo Da Roma (born Eraldo Judiconi, 1 March 1900 – 27 May 1981) was an Italian film editor best known for his work with Roberto Rossellini, Vittorio De Sica, and Michelangelo Antonioni. Life and career Da Roma was born on 1 March 1900 in Rome, Italy. At a young age he attempted a singing career as a tenor, but in the early 1930s, De Roma began working in the film industry as an assistant film operator. His earliest film as an editor was '' L'eredità dello zio… buonanima'' (1934) directed by Amleto Palermi. He adopted his 'pseudonym in the 1940s in the credits of some Goffredo Alessandrini's films. Carlo Montuori (3 August 1885 - 4 March 1968) was an Italian cinematographer and cameraman. Born in Rome, he was brother of director Roberto Rossellini and father of producer Franco Rossellini. He died in Monte Carlo. Aldo Fabrizi (; born Aldo Fabbrizi; 1 November 1905 – 2 April 1990) was an Italian actor, director, screenwriter and comedian, best known for the role of the heroic priest in Roberto Rossellini's ''Rome, Open City'' and as partner of Totò in a number of successful comedies. Life and career Born in Rome into a humble family, Fabrizi debuted on stage in a suburban theater in 1931. Vitaliano Brancati (; 24 July 1907 – 25 September 1954) was an Italian novelist, dramatist, poet and screenwriter. Biography Born in Pachino, Syracuse, Brancati studied in Catania, where he graduated in letters and where he spent the most part of his life.
