''Discovery'' is the second studio album by French electronic music duo Daft Punk, released on 12 March 2001 by Virgin Records. It marks a shift from the Chicago house sound prevalent on their first studio record, ''Homework'' (1997), to a house style more heavily inspired by disco, post-disco, garage house, and R&B. Comparing their stylistic approach to their previous album, band member Thomas Bangalter described ''Discovery'' as an exploration of song structures and musical forms whereas ''Homework'' was "raw" electronic music. He also described ''Discovery'' as a reflection of the duo's childhood memories, when they listened to music with a more playful and innocent viewpoint. The album was recorded at Bangalter's home in Paris between 1998 and 2000. Roulé () was a French record label founded in 1995 by former Daft Punk member Thomas Bangalter. Roulé had a side label entitled ''Scratché'' () which released only one record, produced by the Buffalo Bunch (Paul de Homem-Christo and Romain Séo). Roulé was liquidated in 2018. Kris Menace
Kris Menace (born Christoph Hoeffel) is a German electronic musician and music producer. History Christophe Hoeffel began to work as a producer and writer in the mid-1990s for different projects and started using the pseudonym "Kris Menace" in 2005. Menace's debut single "Discopolis" (in collaboration with his friend Lifelike) was released on Alan Braxe's label Vulture Music in 2005. "Discopolis" was later picked up by Defected Records and re-released with various remixes (such as that of Kerri Chandler) and a video directed by Seb Janiak. It became a huge hit in late 2006, reaching #10 in Finland and #89 in the UK Singles Chart. Menace later formed his label Compuphonic and continued to release singles under its imprint. Kraak & Smaak () is a musical production trio from the town of Leiden, Netherlands, consisting of Oscar de Jong, Mark Kneppers and Wim Plug. The three began recording in 2003. Glasgow Underground Recordings is a house music record label owned by Scottish electronic musician Kevin McKay. The label was created in 1997 and has been home to artists such as Romanthony, DJ Q, Mateo & Matos, Pascal Rioux, Rose Smith, Muzique Tropique, Milton Jackson and DJ Mash. Azuli Records
Azuli Records was a British independent record label, focusing mainly on house music and other forms of electronic dance music. The label was founded by DJ Dave Piccioni in London, England in 1991 but went into liquidation in April 2009. Some of its back catalogue was sold to Phoenix Music International Ltd. The label was re-launched by Piccioni and administered by Defected Records. In 2012, the label was sold to Defected Records. Releases included the ''Choice'' series.
