''RollerCoaster Tycoon 2'' is a 2002 construction and management simulation game developed by Chris Sawyer and published by Infogrames Interactive. Released in October 2002 as the sequel to ''RollerCoaster Tycoon'', the game simulates the management of amusement parks. The features and expansions were ported to ''RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic'' in 2017. OpenRCT2, an open-source game engine recreation, was first released in 2015. Gameplay In ''RollerCoaster Tycoon 2'', players manage amusement parks and attempt to meet various goals to complete assigned scenarios. Chris Sawyer
Christopher Sawyer is a Scottish video game designer and programmer. He is best known for creating ''Transport Tycoon'', which has been considered "one of the most important simulation games ever made", and the bestseller '' RollerCoaster Tycoon'' series. After a period away from the games industry in the late 2000s, Sawyer founded 31X, a mobile game development company. Early life Sawyer was born in Stirling, Scotland, and had an interest with computers and programming from an early age, writing simple scripts in BASIC on a ZX81 at a local store in Doune. Being unable to afford a BBC Micro, Sawyer purchased a Camputers Lynx with which he could write simple programs in machine code. A roller coaster, or rollercoaster, is a type of amusement ride that employs a form of elevated railroad track designed with tight turns, steep slopes, and sometimes inversions. Walibi Holland (previously called Flevohof, Walibi Flevo, Six Flags Holland and Walibi World) is a theme park in Biddinghuizen, Netherlands. History The park was opened in 1971 as 'Flevohof'.
