Rolf Ellmer
Rolf Johannes Ellmer (born 3 December 1960) is a classically trained musician and composer (concert-guitarist) and has become one of Germany's most well known producers in the techno and trance scene. Together with Markus Löffel (alias Mark Spoon), also from the German music scene, he has recorded under several monikers such as Jam & Spoon, Tokyo Ghetto Pussy and Storm (German band), Storm. He was a member of the group Dance 2 Trance, along with Dag Lerner (alias DJ Dag), which had success all over the world and he is considered to be one of the pioneers of trance music. A string of hits under Jam & Spoon include "Right in the Night, Right in The Night", "Stella", "Kaleidoscope Skies", "How Stella Got Her Groove Back", and "Set Me Free (Empty Rooms)". Techno
Techno is a genre of electronic dance music (EDM) which is generally produced for use in a continuous DJ set, with tempo often varying between 120 and 150 beats per minute (bpm). Markus Löffel
Mark Spoon (27 November 1966 – 11 January 2006) was a disc jockey, musician and record producer from Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Together with Rolf Ellmer (Jam El Mar) he recorded under several monikers, including Jam & Spoon, Tokyo Ghetto Pussy and Storm. He also produced and remixed many other artists as well as becoming a veteran performer many times at Berlin's Love Parade. Spoon, born as Markus Löffel, began his professional career as a cook before changing direction and working as a DJ in the late 1980s. He adopted the stage name Mark Spoon, a direct translation of his birth name: ''Löffel'' is the German word for ''spoon''. In the early 1990s he teamed up with Jam El Mar (a classically trained guitarist) as Jam & Spoon. Their greatest hits (in Germany) were "Right in the Night" (1994) and "Kaleidoscope skies" (1997). Dance 2 Trance were a German techno duo composed of Rolf Ellmer and DJ Dag Lerner. They had a small number of hit singles in the mid-1990s and were associated with Jam & Spoon. History Musical career DJ Dag and Jam El Mar met in 1990, when they decided to work together. "Right in the Night (Fall in Love with Music)" is a song by German electronic music duo Jam & Spoon, released as the second single from their second album, ''Tripomatic Fairytales 2001'' (1993). It is a Eurodance song with elements from progressive and vocal trance. It is based on "Asturias (Leyenda), Leyenda" by the classical composer Isaac Albéniz and features vocals by American vocalist Plavka, with lyrics by Nosie Katzmann.
