Senboku District, Akita
is a rural district located in Akita, Japan. At present time (as of June 2013), the district consists of only the town of Misato with an estimated population of 20,771 and an area of 168.36 km2. All of the city of Senboku, most of the city of Daisen and part of the city of Yokote were formerly part of Senboku District. Rōnin
A ''rōnin'' ( ; ja, 浪人, , meaning 'drifter' or 'wanderer') was a samurai without a lord or master during the feudal period of Japan (1185–1868). Onodera Yoshimichi
(1566–1646) was the son of Onodera Terumichi (minor ''daimyō'' of Dewa Province). Yoshimichi was the lord of Omori Castle, and a longtime rival of the clan Mogami. Yoshimichi himself later became a Daimyō of the Dewa. During the year 1594, Mogami Yoshiaki, an old enemy of Yoshimichi, deceived him into punishing one of his chief retainers. This deception greatly affected the unity among the retainers. Later on, Ōtani Yoshitsugu was to conduct land surveys in Yoshimichi's domain, but he was ultimately called off. Yoshimichi's castle of Omori was besieged during the year 1599.
