Val Camonica
Val Camonica (also ''Valcamonica'' or Camonica Valley, Eastern Lombard: ''Al Camònega'') is one of the largest valleys of the central Alps, in eastern Lombardy, Italy. It extends about from the Tonale Pass to Corna Trentapassi, in the commune of Pisogne near Lake Iseo. Artogne
Artogne (''Artògne'' in camunian dialect) is an Italian comune in the province of Brescia, in Lombardy (Italy). Artogne lies on the left side of Oglio river, between the towns of Gianico, Pian Camuno and Rogno. History In 1233 Artogne became property of the Brusati family. In 1331 Zanone called "Mastaio" and Ziliolo Federici, sons of Bojaco of Gorzone, bought all the property that Girardo Brusati owned in the land of Artogne. Artogne is indicated on the 1508 map of Valle Camonica designed by Leonardo da Vinci, which is kept at the Royal Library of Windsor, in Great Britain. In 1912 a severe flood hit the village. In 1927 the town merged with that of Pian Camuno, creating the town of Pian d'Artogne. This was split again in 1957. On July 26, 1944 Battista Pedersoli, Giacomo Marioli and Antonio Cotti Cottiniare were killed at the Cascina Campelli by nazi-fascists. Angolo Terme
Angolo Terme (''Angól'' in Camunian dialect) is a ''comune'' in Val Camonica, province of Brescia, in Lombardy, Italy. It lies on the right bank of the river Dezzo, in the lower Valle di Scalve. History Angolo was a mining center known since the 4th century BC. After the 12th century AD its history was closely linked to that of the Federici family. In 1335 Luchino Visconti granted them a privilege to extract iron in the area. In 1403 Caterina Visconti gave the family the possessions of the Antonioli of Grevo in exchange for the support offered her. In 1408 Angolo went to Pandolfo III Malatesta, who ceded it to Comicino Federici, who temporarily sided for the Guelphs, until 1419, when he returned to the Ghibelline allegiance and the Visconti.
