Rockliffe St. Patrick Fellowes (17 March 1884 – 28 January 1950),''Who Was Who on Screen'' c.1977 by Evelyn Mack Truitt..Retrieved 22 June 2018 was a Canadian actor born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He starred in films such as ''Regeneration'' and '' Monkey Business''. Biography After following a business career for some years, he gave it up to go onto the stage in 1907 and later made his entry into films as the redemptive hero of Raoul Walsh's 1915 silent gangster film ''Regeneration''. He appeared mostly in silent films and is probably best known today for his role as gangster Joe Helton in '' Monkey Business'' (1931) starring the Marx Brothers. At one time he was married to the stage actress Lucile Watson. He retired from acting in 1934. Fellowes died in Los Angeles, California in 1950 at the age of 66. David Lunn-Rockliffe
David Lunn-Rockliffe (28 December 1924 – 23 August 2011) was a British businessman, rowing supporter, and co-founder of the River and Rowing Museum in Henley-on-Thames, England. Lunn-Rockliffe was the youngest son of an English father, a doctor, and Swiss mother. He was brought up near Winchester in Hampshire, southern England. He was educated at Stowe School and Jesus College, Cambridge, reading land economy, with a break between to serve with the Worcestershire Regiment in Burma during World War II. He started working as a dairy farmer in Hampshire, before becoming a development officer at the Institute of Corn and Agricultural Merchants. He later worked in the paint industry. Lunn-Rockliffe was Executive Secretary of the Amateur Rowing Association (now known as British Rowing) in the United Kingdom from 1976 until 1987, overseeing the move towards a more professional organization. Rockliffe Park (Hurworth)
Rockliffe Park near Hurworth, County Durham, is Middlesbrough Football Club's training facility and sports complex. History of Rockliffe Park Early years (1863-1996) In 1863, Arthur Backhouse (a member of the Quaker banking family of Darlington) built Rockliffe Hall, then known as Pilmore Hall. The grounds and hall were then sold off to Lord Southampton and used as a command headquarters during World War II. The estate was then split amongst the family and then sold to the Brothers Hospitallers of St. John of God in 1948. The brothers built St Cuthbert's Hospital, and remained there until the Order moved to nearby Scorton in 1991. Ownership by Middlesbrough F.C. (1997-date) Following a period in which the area had been unused, Middlesbrough purchased Rockliffe Park in 1997. ''Rockliffe'' is a British television police procedural drama series, produced by the BBC, which ran for three series between 9 January 1987 and 14 December 1988. ''Rockliffe'' was devised by Richard O'Keeffe, and produced by Leonard Lewis. The first two series, entitled ''Rockliffe's Babies'', starred Ian Hogg as Alan Rockliffe, a detective sergeant assigned to train a team of inexperienced plain-clothed Crime Squad PCs in inner-city London, which include Steve Hood (Brett Fancy), Gerry O'Dowd (Joe McGann), David Adams (Bill Champion), Janice Hargreaves (Alphonsia Emmanuel), Paul Georgiou (Martyn Ellis), Keith Chitty (John Blakely) and Karen Walsh (Susanna Shelling).
