Rochester Community Schools (Michigan)
Rochester Community Schools District includes 523 acres of property encompassing 66 square miles primarily in the City of Rochester Hills, the City of Rochester, and Oakland Township, as well as parts of Orion Township and Auburn Hills in northeast Oakland County and parts of Shelby Township and Washington Township in northwest Macomb County, in the U.S. state of Michigan. It currently has upwards of 15,000 students, all located in Rochester Hills and Oakland Township, Michigan. The Administration Center is located in the city of Rochester. Stoney Creek High School
Stoney Creek High School is a public high school located in Rochester Hills, Michigan and is part of the Rochester Community Schools school district. History Construction began in 1997 when voters approved a bond issue for building improvements in the growing district. The school board decided to name the school after the nearby historic village of Stony Creek. The high school opened in 2001 at a total cost of $64 million. The building first housed Rochester Adams students when their school was being renovated. It later housed Rochester High School Students in the 2001–2002 school year. The building also housed North Hill Elementary students when their school was receiving extensive renovations in the 2002–2003 school year but, the elementary students only attended class in half of the school while the other half was used by students of Stoney Creek. Rochester High School is located in Rochester Hills, Michigan, United States, and is part of the Rochester Community Schools. It was established in 1883, and classes have been held in the current facility since 1955. The school mascot is Freddie the Falcon. National School Lunch Act
The Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act (79 P.L. 396, 60 Stat. 230) is a 1946 United States federal law that created the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) to provide low-cost or free school lunch meals to qualified students through subsidies to schools. The program was established as a way to prop up food prices by absorbing farm surpluses, while at the same time providing food to school age children. It was named after Richard Russell, Jr., signed into law by President Harry S. Truman in 1946, and entered the federal government into schools' dietary programs on June 4, 1946.
