Robert Zirkin
Robert A. "Bobby" Zirkin (born April 24, 1971) is an American politician from Maryland and a member of the Democratic Party. He represented Maryland's District 11 in Baltimore County in the Maryland House of Delegates from 1999 to 2007 and in the Maryland State Senate from 2007 to 2020. Background Born in Davis, California, Zirkin's family moved to Maryland while he was a child and Zirkin attended Baltimore County Public Schools, including Pikesville High School. He received a bachelor's degree from the Johns Hopkins University before earning a Juris Doctor degree from the Georgetown University Law Center before joining the Maryland Bar. Maryland's Legislative District 11 is one of 47 districts in the state for the Maryland General Assembly. It covers part of Baltimore County. Demographic characteristics As of the 2020 United States census, the district had a population of 127,808, of whom 99,934 (78.2%) were of voting age. The racial makeup of the district was 68,981 (54.0%) White, 36,640 (28.7%) African American, 416 (0.3%) Native American, 9,434 (7.4%) Asian, 22 (0.0%) Pacific Islander, 5,042 (3.9%) from some other race, and 7,242 (5.7%) from two or more races. Maryland
Maryland ( ) is a state in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. The 2008 United States presidential election was the 56th quadrennial presidential election, held on Tuesday, November 4, 2008. States Newsroom is a U.S. tax-exempt organization that serves as an umbrella organization for state-focused news outlets with progressive editorial outlooks. Launched in 2019, it began as a sponsored project of the Hopewell Fund, a left-leaning nonprofit that does not disclose its donors. It grew out of NC Policy Watch, a progressive think tank in North Carolina founded by Chris Fitzsimon. Fitzsimon is States Newsroom's director and publisher. Pikesville High School
Pikesville High School (PHS) is a four-year public high school in Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. It is part of the Baltimore County Public Schools consolidated school district. The school was opened in 1964 as Pikesville Senior High School with grades 9-11 and was renamed in the mid-1980s as part of a county-wide grade realignment. The classes currently span on 80 minute periods with an A and B day schedule. The school has recently received a $40 million renovation, including a math wing and science wing that replaced a single hallway of rooms and adjacent courtyard. The other courtyard was filled with more learning spaces. The cafeteria was expanded along with asbestos removal.
