Robert Mitwerandu
Robert Mitwerandu (27 February 1970 – 7 May 2000) was a Polish footballer who played as a midfielder. Born to a Zimbabwean father, he was the first black and Afro-Polish player to play in Ekstraklasa and for a Polish national team at any level. Born and raised in Chorzów, he spoke Silesian fluently. Chorzów ( ; ; german: link=no, Königshütte ; szl, Chorzōw) is a city in the Silesia region of southern Poland, near Katowice. Chorzów is one of the central cities of the Upper Silesian Metropolitan Union – a metropolis with a population of 2 million.
