Robert J. McIntosh
Robert John McIntosh (September 16, 1922 – March 22, 2008) was an attorney, pilot, and politician from the U.S. state of Michigan. McIntosh was born in Port Huron, Michigan and graduated from Port Huron High School in 1940. He attended Michigan State University, East Lansing from 1940 to 1944. He received a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 1948, and in the same year was admitted to the bar and commenced the practice of law in Port Huron. McIntosh served in the United States Air Force from 1942 to 1945 and was assigned to the Eighth Air Force in England as a fighter pilot. He served as assistant prosecuting attorney of Saint Clair County from 1949 to 1951 and as postmaster at Port Huron from October 1, 1953, to February 4, 1955. The bill was passed by the 85th United States Congress and signed into law by President Dwight D. Eisenhower on September 9, 1957. The Supreme Court of the United States, Supreme Court's 1954 ruling in the case of ''Brown v. Board of Education'' brought the issue of school desegregation to the fore of public attention, as Southern Democratic leaders began a campaign of "massive resistance" against desegregation. Vero Beach is a city in and the seat of Indian River County, Florida, United States. Vero Beach is the second most populous city in Indian River County. Abundant in beaches and wildlife, Vero Beach is located on Florida's Treasure Coast. It is thirty-four miles south of Melbourne, Florida. According to the U.S. Census Bureau's 2010 data, the city had a population of 15,220. History Pre-Columbian Parts of a human skeleton were found north of Vero in association with the remains of Pleistocene animals in 1915. The find was controversial, and the view that the human remains dated from much later than the Pleistocene prevailed for many years.
