Robert Donchez
Robert "Bob" Donchez is an American politician. He served as a city councilman of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania from 1996 until 2013 and was the city's 11th Mayor from 2013 to 2021. He currently is serving as deputy director of Human Resources for Northampton County. Early life Donchez is a lifelong native of Southside Bethlehem. His father was a police officer who died of a heart attack when he was 18. He abandoned his dream of being a lawyer and pursued a teaching degree at Kutztown University in order to support his family. Career Educator Donchez worked as a social studies teacher at Allen Highschool for 35 years. Bethlehem City Council Donchez got involved in politics by assisting then councilmen Paul Marcincin as his treasurer during the 1976 mayoral race. The Mayor of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania is a political position dating from 1917, arising from the merger of Borough of Bethlehem and the Borough of South Bethlehem, which came together as the city of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. J. William Reynolds is the current mayor having been sworn in on January 3, 2021. Term limits In October 1973, just before the 15th mayoral election as the city was about to elect its 6th mayor, the council voted in favor of an ordinance limiting Bethlehem mayors to two full four-year terms (in addition to a partial term as an interim mayor if applicable). William Allen High School
William Allen High School is one of two large, urban public high schools of the Allentown School District in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The school provides public education for grades 9 through 12. William Allen High School is located at 106 North 17th Street, Allentown. It serves students from the center city and west side sections of Allentown. The city's other public high school, Dieruff High School, serves students from Allentown's eastern and southern sections. Paul Marcincin
Paul "Mo-Mo" Marcincin was an American politician. He served as a city councilman of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, for 12 years. He was also the city's 7th mayor for two periods first from 1978 to 1987 and Interim mayor from 1997 to 1998. Early life Marcincin was a lifelong Bethlehem native. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. Upon returning to Bethlehem he graduated from Moravian College with a degree in teaching later earning his master's degree at Lehigh University. He worked as an teacher for the Bethlehem school district for 36 years, 27 of which where at the Northeast Middle School. He was also the Moravian Greyhounds basketball coach for 24 years.
