Rob Johnson (Australian Politician)
Robert Frank Johnson (born 17 October 1943) is a former Australian politician who was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia from 1993 to 2017. He was elected as a member of the Liberal Party, and served as a minister in the government of Colin Barnett from 2008 to 2012, but resigned from the party in 2016 to sit as an independent. He was defeated at the 2017 election. Political career Local politics Johnson was born in London, England. At the age of 35, he was elected as a councillor for the London Borough of Sutton and subsequently became Mayor. Soon after emigrating to Australia in 1988, he was elected as a councillor to the City of Wanneroo in 1991. The following year he was elected Mayor. It organizes Volunteer Playmakers to spend time with children in wards or in special play areas, taking its name from the radio stations it runs in hospitals playing children's programming - part-presented by children themselves. Don Randall (politician)
Donald James Randall (2 May 1953 – 21 July 2015) was an Australian politician of the Liberal Party. He represented the Division of Swan, Western Australia in the Australian House of Representatives from 1996 to 1998, as well as the Division of Canning, Western Australia, from 2001 until his death in 2015. He was born in Merredin, Western Australia, and was educated at Graylands Teachers College, Perth. He was a teacher and marketing consultant before entering politics. Randall died of a heart attack while in office, and the 2015 Canning by-election was held in his seat. The Division of Canning is an Australian Electoral Division in Western Australia. History The division was created in 1949 and is named for Alfred Canning, the Western Australian government surveyor who surveyed the Canning Stock Route. Peter van Onselen is an Australian political academic, author, political journalist and commentator. He is a contributing editor at ''The Australian'' newspaper. Between 2010 and 2017, he hosted several programs at Sky News Australia. Since December 2018 he has served as Network 10's political editor and a co-host of '' The Project''. Early life Van Onselen was born in 1976 in Sydney, New South Wales and grew up in Coogee in the eastern suburbs of Sydney.
