Roanu Hassan Manik
Roanu Hassan Manik is a widely acclaimed Maldivian film actor, who mainly works in the Maldivian film industry. Early life On 11 November 1977, while working as a Headmaster at educational centre, Manik produced, choreographed and starred in a theatre play, ''Vamundhaa Goiyy'' alongside his students which narrates the discrimination of locals moving from atolls to Male'. Afterwards he worked in several other theatre performances before making his screen debut in Musthafa Hussain-directed ''Gellunu Furaavaru'' (1980). Distributed through Television Maldives, Manik's talent was recognized by the producers and he was offered several films like ''Karudhaas Finifenmaa'' and ''Zaharu Dhin Ufaa'' which ultimately did not materialize. Afterwards, he went back to theatre performances played by CDS group and became a prominent name in the industry. Jamsheedha Ahmed
Jamsheedha Ahmed (2 December 1978) is a Maldivian actress. Career 1996–99: Early releases and ''Amaanaaiy'' Ahmed made her screen debut in 1996 with the video single titled "Nudhaashe Dhookohfaa Loabivaa" performed by Abdul Sameeu. Recalling her memories of the song, Ahmed said it was a "fun experience" accepted as a favor to her friend. With her "timid" behavior and lack of trainings, Ahmed "struggled" while performing the song. However, upon release, the song was accepted among the audience where she received several offers to feature in songs and film. A year later, she made her film debut alongside Mariyam Nisha and Hussain Sobah as the caring sister of an underprivileged talented vocalist in Amjad Ibrahim's '' Loabeege Aniyaa'' (1997). Ali Seezan
Ali Seezan (born 6 February 1977) is a Maldivian film actor, editor, director and producer. He has established a career in Maldives Film Industry and is a recipient of two National Film Awards. Early life Ali Seezan was born on 6 February 1977. His parents Fathimath Waheeda and Abdul Rasheed are not active members of the film industry, though his father has worked in arranging stage shows for many events. Ravee Farooq is a Maldivian actor, director, editor and choreographer. Career Farooq made his film debut with Abdul Faththaah-directed romantic disaster film, '' Hureemey Inthizaarugaa'' (2005) cast along with Mariyam Zuhura, Waleedha Waleed, Ibrahim Jihad and Neena Saleem. The film, heavily relied on the effect of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake on the Maldives, received favorable reviews from critics though it failed to perform financially. Mohamed Manik (15 October 1969) is a Maldivian film actor and director. Fauziyya Hassan
Fauziyya Hassan (8 January 1942 – 31 August 2022) was a Maldivian film actress. She made her film debut in ''Sidha'' in 1985. In 1994 she was arrested by the Indian police on espionage charges relating to the Indian Space Research Organisation. She and a friend were accused of passing sensitive defence information to Pakistan. The espionage case against Hassan was not proven and eventually other charges were dropped, though she spent three years in prison under the National Security Act. After her release Hassan appeared in a number of television dramas and films, including a run of horror films in the early 2000s. Ahmed Nimal is a Maldivian actor, director, editor, writer and producer. Early life Prior to acting in films, Nimal worked at Maldives Meteorological Service office. His interest in films and acting grew due to the influence of his colleagues including Easa Shareef and other friends who actively take part in theatre plays. Career Nimal made his career debut with ''Nufoozu'' (1984), an initiation by Shareef and his colleagues.
