Roadblock (March 2016)
WWE Roadblock (originally titled March to WrestleMania: Live from Toronto) was the inaugural Roadblock professional wrestling livestreaming event produced by WWE. The event aired exclusively on the WWE Network and took place on March 12, 2016, at the Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The event's title was a reference to its position on the "Road to WrestleMania". Nine matches (including two dark matches) were contested at the event. The main event saw Triple H defeat Dean Ambrose to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Paul Michael Levesque (born July 27, 1969), better known by the ring name Triple H, is an American business executive, actor, and retired professional wrestler currently serving as the chief content officer for WWE. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. The New Day are an American professional wrestling stable consisting of Big E (wrestler), Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods. The stable is currently performing in WWE on the NXT (WWE brand), SmackDown WWE brand extension, brand, but also appears on the NXT (WWE brand), NXT brand where Kingston and Woods are the current NXT Tag Team Champions in their first reign. The NXT Tag Team Championship is a men's professional wrestling tag team championship created and promoted by the American promotion WWE. It is defended on the NXT brand division, the promotion's developmental territory. Introduced on January 23, 2013, the inaugural championship team was British Ambition ( Adrian Neville and Oliver Grey). The League Of Nations (professional Wrestling)
The League of Nations was a mulitnational villainous professional wrestling stable in WWE. It was active from November 2015 to April 2016 and composed of Sheamus from Ireland, King Barrett from England, Rusev from Bulgaria, and Alberto Del Rio from Mexico. The concept of the group came from the idea that all of its members were immigrants to the U.S. and banded together to represent their respective nations while displaying anti-U.S. sentiments. Formed during a time when WWE was attempting to establish Roman Reigns as the face of the company, critics panned the group for being created by the company solely for the purpose of being defeated by Reigns.
