Rizwan Akram
Rizwan Akram (born 26 September 1979) is a Dutch former cricketer and now an umpire. In April 2018, he was appointed to the International Cricket Council's (ICC) Panel of Development Umpires. In June 2018, he was named as one of the umpires for the 2018 Netherlands Tri-Nation Series. On 12 June 2018, he stood in his first Twenty20 International (T20I) match, between the Netherlands and Ireland. On 1 August 2018, he stood in his first One Day International (ODI) match, between the Netherlands and Nepal. In January 2022, he was named as one of the on-field umpires for the 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in the West Indies. 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup
The 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup was an international limited-overs cricket tournament that was held in the West Indies in January and February 2022 with sixteen teams taking part. It was the fourteenth edition of the Under-19 Cricket World Cup, and the first that was held in the West Indies. Bangladesh were the defending champions. In March 2021, Cricket West Indies confirmed that the format would be the same as previous editions, with teams competing to progress to the Plate and Super League phases of the tournament. The first ODI match took place on 5 January 1971 between Australia and England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The umpires for this game were Tom Brooks and Lou Rowan. In April 2019, Claire Polosak became the first woman to stand in men's ODI match, when she was one of the on-field umpires for the final of the 2019 ICC World Cricket League Division Two tournament. Nepalese Cricket Team In The Netherlands In 2018
The Nepalese cricket team toured the Netherlands in August 2018 to play two One Day Internationals (ODIs) matches against the Dutch cricket team. They were the first ODI matches to be played by Nepal since they were awarded ODI status by the International Cricket Council (ICC) during the 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier. It was the first ODI series to be played in the Netherlands since 2013, when South Africa played a one-off match, and the first ODI matches to be played by the Netherlands since the 2014 Cricket World Cup Qualifier tournament. In July 2018, the Koninklijke Nederlandse Cricket Bond (KNCB) confirmed the venues for the two matches. Later in the same month, Nepal's Shakti Gauchan announced that he would retire from international cricket after the conclusion of the series. In cricket, an umpire (from the Old French ''nompere'' meaning not a peer, i.e. not a member of one of the teams, impartial) is a person who has the authority to make decisions about events on the cricket field according to the ''Laws of Cricket''. A One Day International (ODI) is a form of limited overs cricket, played between two teams with international status, in which each team faces a fixed number of overs, currently 50, with the game lasting up to 9 hours. The Cricket World Cup, generally held every four years, is played in this format. One Day International matches are also called Limited Overs Internationals (LOI), although this generic term may also refer to Twenty20 International matches. Twenty20 International
A Twenty20 International (T20I) is a form of cricket, played between two of the international members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), in which each team faces a maximum of twenty overs. The matches have top-class status and are the highest T20 standard. The game is played under the rules of Twenty20 cricket. Starting from the format's inception in 2005, T20I status only applied to Full Members and some Associate Member teams. However, in April 2018, the ICC announced that it would grant T20I status to all its 105 members from 1 January 2019.
