The Saint-Georges Cool FM 103.5 is a professional ice hockey team based in Saint-Georges, Quebec, Canada. The team is part of the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey (LNAH), and plays at the Centre Sportif Lacroix-Dutil. History The team was founded in 1996-97 as the Rive-Sud Jackals in the former Quebec Semi-Pro Hockey League (QSPHL). The Jackals became the Saint-Georges Garaga in 1998–99, when relocating to Saint-Georges, Quebec. The Garaga dominated Canadian senior hockey in the early 2000s, winning the 2002 Allan Cup and the 2004 Allan Cup. In 2005, the team was purchased by businessman Jean-Paul Blais, who also owns the CRS Express trucking company, and renamed the team Saint-Georges CRS Express. Blais sold the team to investors in 2010, and the team was renamed after a local radio station, CKRB-FM. Saint-Georges () is a city in the province of Quebec. It is the seat of Beauce-Sartigan Regional County Municipality, part of the Chaudière-Appalaches region. The population was 32,935 as of the Canada 2021 Census. Route 173 runs through Saint-Georges Est (where it is known as Boulevard Lacroix) and heads south to the border with Maine, USA. The name of the parish and of the city, Saint-Georges, is in homage to George Pozer, the fourth seigneur of Aubert-Gallion. Joseph Jonathan Delisle (June 30, 1977 – March 16, 2006) was a Canadian professional ice hockey right winger. Early life Delisle was born in Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines, Quebec. As a youth, he played in the 1991 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with the Northern Selects minor ice hockey team. Playing career Delisle was drafted in the fourth round, 86th overall, of the 1995 NHL Entry Draft by the Montreal Canadiens. Dany Roussin (born January 9, 1985) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre who last played for Jonquière Marquis of the LNAH. Playing career Junior Dany was taken in the first round (5th overall) of the QMJHL Entry Draft by the Sherbrooke Beavers. After two seasons with the Beavers, where he was stuck playing in a defensive role for Sherbrooke, Roussin was traded to the Rimouski Océanic. It was with Rimouski where Roussin would start producing offensively. He would finish the 2003 with a point per game average, scoring 38 points in 38 games. That would be enough for Roussin to get noticed by the Florida Panthers, who chose to draft Roussin in the 7th round with the 223rd pick of the NHL Entry Draft. The following year, he finished the season leading the QMJHL with 59 goals in 64 games and finishing second to teammate Sidney Crosby in points. Joseph Jesse Dave Bélanger (born June 15, 1969) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre who played in the National Hockey League from 1991 to 2001. Playing career As a youth, he played in the 1981 and 1982 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournaments with a minor ice hockey team from Saint-Georges, Quebec. Despite an excellent junior career with the Granby Bisons during which he twice topped 100 points, Bélanger was never selected in the NHL Entry Draft. He signed as a free agent with the Montreal Canadiens in 1990, and immediately showed his talent, scoring 98 points for the Fredericton Canadiens of the American Hockey League. The Beauce Jaros were a minor professional ice hockey team from Saint-Georges, Quebec, located in the "Beauce" region of the province. The Jaros played one full season in the North American Hockey League during the 1975–76 NAHL season, and were the NAHL's regular season champions, but lost to the Philadelphia Firebirds in the Lockhart Cup finals.
