Ritu (Indian Season)
Ritu ( sa, ऋतु) or Kaalanilai ( ta, காலநிலை) means "season" in different ancient Indian calendars used in India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka. There are six ritus (also transliterated ritu) or seasons. The word is derived from the Vedic Sanskrit word Ṛtú, a fixed or appointed time, especially the proper time for sacrifice (yajna) or ritual in Vedic religion; this in turn comes from the word Ṛta (ऋत), as used in Vedic Sanskrit literally means the "order or course of things". This word is used in nearly all Indian languages. North, West, Central Indian and Andhra Pradesh calendars Nepal and India observes six ecological seasons. Ritu Nanda (born Ritu Raj Kapoor; 30 October 1948 – 14 January 2020) was an Indian businesswoman and insurance advisor. Career Nanda served as the chairperson and CEO of Ritu Nanda Insurance Services (RNIS). She initially managed a household appliances manufacturing business, Nikitasha, which got closed due to poor growth. Ritu Kumar is an Indian fashion designer. Early life and education The lack of educational opportunities in Amritsar led her to move to Simla for her schooling, where she attended Loreto Convent. She later studied at Lady Irwin College, where she met and married Shashi Kumar, and then went on to accept a scholarship at Briarcliff College in New York, where she studied Art History. Ritu Rani (born 29 December 1991) is an Indian field hockey player and former captain of the national team. She plays as a halfback. Ritu ( sa, ऋतु, ṛtú, lit=period) in Vedic Sanskrit refers to a fixed or appointed time, especially the proper time for sacrifice ( yajna) or ritual in Vedic Religion.
