	Rio Dos Sinos Rio dos Sinos is a river in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, southern Brazil. It rises in the hills east of Caraá ( away from Porto Alegre) at elevations above and covers a distance of about , flowing into the delta Jacuí in Canoas, at an elevation of only . The river basin contains the São Francisco de Paula National Forest, a sustainable use conservation area created in 1968. 	Canoas Canoas (), which earned city status in 1939, is a municipality in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. With more than 340,000 inhabitants, it is part of the Porto Alegre conurbation and has the second highest GDP in the state. It is also the fourth largest city in the state by population.
