Rijksweg 4
The A4 motorway, also called Rijksweg 4, is a motorway in the Netherlands running from Amsterdam southwards to the Belgian border near Zandvliet, north of the city of Antwerp. The A4 is divided into two sections; the first and longer section runs from Amsterdam to the A15 near the city of Rotterdam, while the second section starts near Heijningen, where the A29 and the A4 meet, going to the Belgian border. Between the A29 near the village of Klaaswaal, south of Rotterdam, and the interchange Sabina, where the A4-A29 meets the A59, the route is numbered A29. Three European routes run concurrently with this highway at some point, E19, E30, and E312. The highway is long. There are no authorized plans for the missing link between Pernis (south of Schiedam and west of Rotterdam) and the A29 near Klaaswaal, though right-of-way has been acquired for the future A29 interchange with the A4. Rijkswaterstaat, founded in 1798 as the ''Bureau voor den Waterstaat'' and formerly translated to Directorate General for Public Works and Water Management, is a Directorate-General of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management of the Netherlands. Its role is the practical execution of the public works and water management, including the construction and maintenance of waterways and roads, and flood protection and prevention. A44 Motorway (Netherlands)
The A44 motorway is a motorway in the Netherlands connecting the A4 with Wassenaar. The route continues as main road N44 towards The Hague, providing an alternative link with Amsterdam for the A4 motorway. The A44 also serves Leiden and the Bollenstreek. The length of the A44 is , the N44 adds another making the total route long. Overview Near Leimuiden, the A44 motorway splits from the A4 at Burgerveen interchange. Until the 1960s, the A4 followed the route of the current A44 passing Leiden west. Then the new A4 was built east of the city creating a more direct route from Amsterdam to Rotterdam. The A5 motorway is a motorway in the Netherlands. With a length of , it is one of the shortest motorways in the country. Overview The A5 serves as a western by-pass for the city of Amsterdam, relieving the western part of the A10 motorway from through traffic towards Zaanstad and the northern part of the province. It also forms a shortcut between the A4 motorway and A9 motorway, reducing travel time and distance between The Hague and Haarlem and Alkmaar. This shortcut relieved the busy intersection Badhoevedorp. The current A5 was opened in two sections: the first on November 8, 2003 connecting the A4 with the A9 resulting in two new interchanges: interchange De Hoek (A4/A5) and interchange Raasdorp (A5/A9). A9 Motorway (Netherlands)
The A9 motorway is a motorway in the Netherlands. The motorway starts off by going from the A1 at Diemen (junction Diemen) to the A2 at junction 'Holendrecht' (on the 'Gaasperdammerweg'). Overview Here one drives approximately two kilometers south by means of the combined A9/A2 before the A9 heads off to the west again towards Amstelveen, junction 'Badhoevedorp' ( A4), junction 'Raasdorp' ( A5), junction 'Rottepolderplein' ( A200) and on to junction 'Velsen' ( A22). Schiedam
Schiedam () is a city and municipality in the west of the Netherlands. It is located in the Rotterdam–The Hague metropolitan area, west of Rotterdam, east of Vlaardingen, and south of Delft. Pernis, Netherlands

The district has a population of 4,845 (2018) on a total area size of 1.60 km² (0.62 sq mi). Pernis is thus a full submunicipality of Rotterdam, but the former independent municipality had its own district council already. Although surrounded by ports, Pernis has preserved its village-like atmosphere very well. Pernis is best known for its petrochemical industry. Refineries define its skyline.
