Rijk Van Nijmegen
The Rijk van Nijmegen ({{IPA-nl, ˌrɛikfɑˈnɛimeːɣə(n)) is a region in the southeast of Gelderland. The region is located around the city of Nijmegen, south of the Waal and east of the Land van Maas en Waal. The area owes its name to the area that in earlier centuries belonged to the free imperial city of Nijmegen. In addition to Nijmegen itself, the region includes the municipalities of Beuningen, Berg en Dal, Heumen and Wijchen. The North Limburg municipality of Mook en Middelaar is often considered part of the Rijk van Nijmegen. Landscape The region is characterized by a wide variety of landscapes. It is wide in the area of Beuningen and Wijchen. East and southeast of the city of Nijmegen it is hilly and wooded. This area is part of the cross-border Nederrijnse Heuvelrug. Gelderland
Gelderland (), also known as Guelders () in English, is a province of the Netherlands, occupying the centre-east of the country. With a total area of of which is water, it is the largest province of the Netherlands by land area, and second by total area. Nijmegen
Nijmegen (;; Spanish and it, Nimega. Nijmeegs: ''Nimwèège'' ) is the largest city in the Dutch province of Gelderland and tenth largest of the Netherlands as a whole, located on the Waal river close to the German border. It is about 60 km south east of Utrecht and 50 km north east of Eindhoven. Waal (river)
The Waal (Dutch name, ) is the main distributary branch of the river Rhine flowing approximately through the Netherlands. It is the major waterway connecting the port of Rotterdam to Germany. Before it reaches Rotterdam, it joins with the Afgedamde Maas near Woudrichem to form the Boven Merwede. Along its length, Nijmegen, Tiel, Zaltbommel and Gorinchem are towns of importance with direct access to the river. Beuningen
Beuningen () is a municipality and a town in the eastern Netherlands. The municipality consists of the towns Beuningen, Ewijk, Winssen and Weurt. to the north lies the river Waal Beuningen lies adjacent to the A73 (Nijmegen-Venlo, on the south side) and A50 (Zwolle-Eindhoven, in the west) motorway interchange. Berg En Dal (municipality)
Berg en Dal (literally in English: ''Mountain and Valley'') is a municipality in the eastern Netherlands, in the province of Gelderland. It was formed through a merger of the municipalities of Groesbeek, Millingen aan de Rijn and Ubbergen in 2015. The resulting larger municipality maintained the name of Groesbeek until 2016, when it was renamed to Berg en Dal after the village of Berg en Dal. Berg en Dal has about 34,714 inhabitants and covers an area of about 93 km².
