Rihab Saleh
Rihab is a village in Mafraq Governorate, in northern Jordan. Antique church buildings Rihab features numerous natural caves and dozens of churches, most of them dating to the late sixth or early seventh century. St. Georgeous church in Rihab is claimed to be one of the oldest churches in the world. A cave under the church may have been used for Christian worship as early as AD 33, although this has been contested by experts. Mafraq ( ar, محافظة المفرق ''Muhāfaẓat al-Mafraq'', local dialects ''Mafrag'' or ''Mafra' '') is one of the governorates of Jordan, located to the north-east of Amman, capital of Jordan. The World Heritage Convention, formally the Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage, is an international treaty signed on 23 November 1972, which created the World Heritage Sites, with the primary goals of nature conservation and the preservation of cultural properties.
