Rickard Fagerlund
Rickard Fagerlund (born 25 January 1937 in Södertälje, Sweden, died 31 December 2009) was a Swedish ice hockey player and manager. Playing as a defenceman for Södertälje SK, he won the Swedish national championship in 1955–56 Swedish Division I season, 1956. He also played for GAIS HK, GAIS, IFK Norrköping (ice hockey), IFK Norrköping and IK Oskarshamn, before coaching HC Vita Hästen. Between 17 September 1983 and 15 June 2002, Fagerlund was the chairman of the Swedish Ice Hockey Association. He was posthumously inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame in 2010. Swedish Ice Hockey Association
The Swedish Ice Hockey Association ( sv, Svenska Ishockeyförbundet (SIF)) in Swedish, is an association of Swedish ice hockey clubs. It was established in Stockholm on 17 November 1922 by representatives from seven clubs. Before then, organized ice hockey in Sweden had been administered by the Swedish Football Association. In 1920, Sweden became a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). In addition to ice hockey, SIF is also responsible for inline hockey. The association's general secretary is Tommy Boustedt. Leagues and levels The Swedish Ice Hockey Association is involved in all levels of ice hockey in Sweden. It organizes the two Swedish Championship leagues, the men's Swedish Hockey League (SHL) and Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL), in addition to other national, regional, and district leagues and tournaments. Kjell Nilsson (Swedish Air Force Officer)
Lieutenant General Kjell Gustav Nilsson (2 August 1943 – 12 January 2018) was a Swedish Air Force officer, ice hockey player and sports administrator. Nilsson's senior commands includes commander of the Northern Air Command (1995–1996), Chief of Staff of the Northern Military District (1996–1998), and Chief of Joint Operations Command (1998–2000). Nilsson served as chairman of the Swedish Ice Hockey Association from June 2002 to June 2004. Career Military career Nilsson began his military career as an air force officer candidate in 1964 at the Swedish Air Force Flying School in Ljungbyhed. Nilsson was commissioned as an officer in the Swedish Air Force in 1967 as second lieutenant. He was promoted to lieutenant in 1969 and to captain in 1972. Nilsson served as squadron commander at Bråvalla Wing in Norrköping from 1973 to 1976. Arne Grunander
Arne Grunander (28 January 1918 – 13 February 1987) was a Swedish ice hockey executive. He helped lead Djurgårdens IF Hockey to nine championships and served as president of the Swedish Ice Hockey Association from 1978 to 1983. He was inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame posthumously in 1997. Career As a youth, Grunander played football alongside Birger Sandberg, where he helped his school win the Crown Prince's trophy in 1937. In 1948, Grunander took over as chairman of Djurgårdens IF Hockey and in his first year with the team helped them qualify for the then-highest league, Allsvenskan. From the 1948 season onwards, Djurgården won nine Swedish championships between 1950 and 1963. As Grunander saw his team dominating the league, he was one of the first instigators that argued for a new elite series of Swedish hockey. IIHF Hall Of Fame
The IIHF Hall of Fame is a hall of fame operated by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). It was founded in 1997, and has resided at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto since 1998. Prior to 1997, the IIHF housed exhibits at the International Hockey Hall of Fame in Kingston, Ontario. Inductions are made annually at the medal presentation day of the Ice Hockey World Championships. As of 2021, the IIHF has inducted 237 members.
