Rick Gray (Arizona Politician)
Rick Gray (born in Omaha, Nebraska) is an American politician and former member of the Arizona Senate as well as a former Republican member of the Arizona House of Representatives representing District 21. Gray previously served consecutively from January 10, 2011 until January 14, 2013 in the District 9 seat. In 2016, Gray ran for a seat on the Arizona Corporation Commission, but placed fourth in the Republican primary. In 2018, Gray was appointed to fill the Arizona State Senate seat vacated by Debbie Lesko after she resigned to run for Congress. Early life and education Gray was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree with a dual major of Organizational Leadership and Biblical Studies from Grace University in Omaha, Nebraska. Arizona Senate
The Arizona State Senate is part of the Arizona Legislature, the state legislature of the US state of Arizona. The Senate consists of 30 members each representing an average of 219,859 constituents (2009 figures). Members serve two-year terms with term limits that limit Senators to four terms for a total of eight years. Members of the Republican Party are currently the majority in the Senate. There is currently 16 women serving in the Senate after Raquel Terán was appointed, making it the first time a majority of the body was composed of female members. As with the Arizona House of Representatives, members to the Senate are elected from the same legislative districts as House members, however one Senator represents the constituency, while for the House there are two Representatives per district. Albert Anthony Melvin (born November 3, 1944) is a Republican politician who served in the Arizona Senate. Melvin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1969 from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and earned his MBA from the American Graduate School in 1972. In 1994, he received his diploma from the U.S. Naval War College. He then served as a captain in the United States Navy, from 1997 to 1999 and a ship's officer for the American Maritime Officers (1999-2002). Andrew M. Tobin (born June 27, 1958) is the Director of the Arizona Department of Administration. He formerly was a member of the Arizona Corporation Commission and also served in the Arizona House of Representatives from the state's 1st district, and as former Speaker, beginning in 2011.
