Richard Townsend (politician)
Richard Townsend (c. 1731 – 12 December 1783) was an Irish politician. He was the oldest son of Richard Townsend, son of Bryan Townsend, and his second wife Elizabeth Beecher, daughter of Henry Beecher and granddaughter of Thomas Beecher. His younger brother was John Townsend. Townsend served as colonel of the Cork Militia and was appointed High Sheriff of County Cork in 1753. He entered the Irish House of Commons for County Cork in 1759 and represented the constituency until his death in 1783. In 1776, he was also elected for Dingle, however chose not to sit. Bryan Townsend (Irish Politician)
Bryan Townsend (c. 1660–1726 in Ireland, 1726) was an Irish politician and sailor. He was the second son of Richard Townsend (soldier), Richard Townsend and his wife Mary Hyde. Towsend served in the Royal Navy and commanded HMS Swiftsure (1673), HMS ''Swiftsure''. He entered the Irish House of Commons in 1695, representing Clonakilty (Parliament of Ireland constituency), Clonakilty until 1699. In 1681, he married Mary Synge, daughter of Edward Synge (bishop of Cork, Cloyne and Ross), Edward Synge, Bishop of Cork, Cloyne and Ross, and by her he had four daughters and nine sons. Robert Alexander (1752 – 14 July 1827) was an Anglo-Irish politician. Alexander was the Member of the Parliament for Dingle in the Irish House of Commons from 1777 to 1783. Maurice FitzGerald, 16th Knight Of Kerry
Maurice FitzGerald, 16th Knight of Kerry (c. 1734 – 24 June 1779), known as "The Dingle Knight", was an Irish politician, barrister and hereditary knight. He was the only surviving son of John FitzGerald, 15th Knight of Kerry and his wife Margaret Deane, daughter of Joseph Deane. In 1741, he succeeded his father as Knight of Kerry. FitzGerald was Judge of the Admiralty Court and in 1761, he entered the Irish House of Commons. He sat for Dingle, the same constituency his father had represented before, until 1776. On 10 June 1764, he married his cousin Lady Anne FitzMaurice, only daughter of William FitzMaurice, 2nd Earl of Kerry. FitzGerald died childless and was succeeded in his title by his uncle Robert. His nephew Richard Boyle Townsend became heir of his estates. Robert FitzGerald, 17th Knight of Kerry (1717 – 5 December 1781) was an Irish politician, barrister and hereditary knight. He was the second son of Maurice FitzGerald, 14th Knight of Kerry and his wife Elizabeth Crosbie, second daughter of David Crosbie. He graduated with a Bachelor of Law and served then as Judge of the Admiralty Court. In 1741, he entered the Irish House of Commons and sat for Dingle, the same constituency his older brother John had represented before, until his death. In 1779, he succeeded his nephew Maurice as Knight of Kerry. In March 1746, FitzGerald married firstly Lucy Leslie, daughter of John Leslie of Tarbert, County Kerry, and niece of James Leslie (bishop) of Limerick.
