Richard Sutton (actor)
Richard Sutton (born 24 February 1978 in Birmingham, West Midlands) is a British stage and screen actor. Career Sutton became a professional actor in 2001 and was signed by the acting agency Villiers and Hudson (now Nancy Hudson Associates Ltd.) in London. He has created roles in a number of popular British television shows. Notable performances include Private Clive Tonry in the BAFTA-award-winning ''Dunkirk'' (2004), and Chris Taylor, the father of the first victim of serial killer Beverly Allitt in BBC One's ''The Angel of Death''. ''Dunkirk'' is a 2004 BBC Television factual about the Battle of Dunkirk and the Dunkirk evacuation in World War II. ''Ghost Stories'' is a one-act horror play written by Jeremy Dyson and Andy Nyman. Production The play was conceived after Nyman walked past the theatre which had hosted ''The Woman in Black'' for over 30 years, and he realised there hadn't been a horror play produced since that time. He contacted his childhood friend Jeremy Dyson with the idea of a new horror play like ''The Vagina Monologues'', with three narrators on stage telling ghost stories. The two were commissioned by Sean Holmes, the newly appointed artistic director the Lyric Hammersmith theatre in London, to write the play. It premiered at the Liverpool Playhouse in February 2010 before being transferred for a longer run at the Lyric Hammersmith in London. ''Gigglebiz'' is a British children's comedy television programme (described as a 'live-action comedy sketch show' by the BBC) consisting of five series that have been broadcast on CBeebies, the BBC's younger children's channel, starting in 2009 (excluding the pilots). Gigglebiz is also available on BBC iPlayer for over a year.
