Richard Roth (politician)
Richard Dale Roth (born November 6, 1950) is an American politician, currently serving in the California State Senate. A Democrat, he represents the 31st Senate District, encompassing northwestern Riverside County, including the cities of Corona, Eastvale, Jurupa Valley, Moreno Valley, Norco, Perris, and Riverside. Prior to being elected to the state senate in 2012, Roth served as a major general in the United States Air Force, and as a practicing attorney. Early life Roth was born on November 6, 1950, in Columbus, Ohio, and graduated from Ada High School (Ada, Ohio) in 1968, where he played in the band and was elected president of his junior class and the student council. He went on to Miami University (Ohio), majored in political science, minored in chemistry and enlisted in the ROTC program. March Air Reserve Base (March ARB), previously known as March Air Force Base (March AFB) is located in Riverside County, California between the cities of Riverside, Moreno Valley, and Perris. Ada ; ; is a village in Hardin County, Ohio, United States, located about southwest of Toledo. The population was 5,952 at the 2010 census. History Following the 1817 Treaty of Fort Meigs, the Shawnee Indians held reservation land at Hog Creek near Ada. Ada itself was originally called Johnstown, platted in 1853 by S. M. Johnson when the railroad was extended to that point. When a post office was established it was called Ada Post Office, named after the postmaster's daughter, Ada. In the United States Armed Forces, a major general is a two-star general officer in the United States Army, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Space Force. A major general ranks above a brigadier general and below a lieutenant general. The pay grade of major general is O-8.
