Dick Clair (November 12, 1931 – December 12, 1988) was an American television producer, actor and television and film writer, best known for the television sitcoms ''It's a Living'', '' The Facts of Life'', and ''Mama's Family''. Early life Clair was born Richard Jones in San Francisco, California. He served in the military for two years from 1955 to 1957. He never married or had children. Career In the early 1970s, Clair performed husband-and-wife comedy routines for ''The Ed Sullivan Show'' and ''The Dean Martin Show'' with his writing partner Jenna McMahon. Clair was a screenwriter for episodes of ''The Mary Tyler Moore Show'' and ''The Bob Newhart Show'' in addition to his Emmy Award winning writing for the comedy-variety TV program ''The Carol Burnett Show''. Richard Jones (cricketer, Born 1871)
Richard Tyrrell Jones (28 June 1871 – 31 August 1940) was an English first-class cricketer and British Army officer. Jones was born in June 1871 at Selattyn, Shropshire, son of John Jones, of Mossfields, Whitchurch, Shropshire. He was educated at Eton College, before going up to New College, Oxford. While studying at Oxford, he made his debut in first-class cricket for Oxford University against the Gentlemen of England at Oxford in 1890. He played first-class cricket for Oxford until 1892, making nine appearances. He scored a total of 258 runs in his nine matches, at an average of 14.33 and a high score of 63. In addition to playing first-class cricket for Oxford, Jones also appeared in a single match for H. Philipson's XI ''against'' Oxford University in 1891. Richard Jones (cricketer, Born 1986)
Richard Alan Jones (born 6 November 1986) is an English cricketer who plays county cricket most recently for Leicestershire. Jones was educated at The Grange School (now Pedmore Technology College) in Stourbridge and Loughborough University. He played for Worcestershire's Second XI as early as August 2004 (when he was 17) and appeared a number of times for them in 2005 and 2006. He was included on the England Under-19 tour to Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in 2005–06. In late April 2007, after several matches in Worcestershire's pre-season warm-up games, he made his first-class debut against Loughborough UCCE at Worcester, taking four wickets in the match. Jones signed a loan deal with Warwickshire on 22 August 2013 for the last few weeks of the season. He was signed as cover for injured Chris Wright (cricketer) and Oliver Hannon-Dalby and also England pair Chris Woakes and Boyd Rankin. Richard Jones (cricketer, Born 1916)
Richard Henry Jones (3 November 1916 – 14 July 2004) was an English cricketer. Jones was a left-handed batsman who bowled right-arm medium pace. He was born at Redditch, Worcestershire. He was known later in life as Richard Henry Cartwright-Jones. Jones made a single first-class appearance for Warwickshire against Somerset at Edgbaston in the 1946 County Championship. Opening the bowling in Somerset's first-innings, he bowled eight wicketless overs, though conceded just 12 runs from them. He opened the batting in Warwickshire's first-innings and was dismissed for 9 runs by Johnny Lawrence, while in Somerset's second-innings he again opened the bowling, bowling three wicketless overs which cost 15 runs. He scored 23 runs in Warwickshire's second-innings, before he was dismissed by Arthur Wellard, with Warwickshire winning by 2 wickets. He died at Cleobury Mortimer, Shropshire on 14 July 2004. Richard Jones (born 22 October 1973) is a cricketer. He started well, captaining the New Zealand Under-19s cricket team in 1993/4. He went on to represent the full senior side in one Test match and five One Day Internationals. Representing Auckland in a match against Wellington, he scored a century – the day before his wedding to Kelly Herbert. He was also the captain of the Auckland Aces, and played for the North Harbour cricket team in the Hawke Cup. Richard Hughes Jones (27 November 1879 – 24 November 1958) was a Welsh international fly-half who played club rugby for Swansea Rugby Club. He won 15 caps for Wales and played county rugby for Glamorgan. Rugby career Jones, along with Dicky Owen, created one of the most devastating half-back pairings to play for Swansea. Dick Jones (Australian Footballer)
Richard Henry Jones (born 5 June 1926) was an Australian rules footballer who played with South Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Jones, a rover, joined South Melbourne from East Fremantle, but hailed from rural Western Australia. He kicked a goal in all but one of his 17 games and topped South Melbourne's goal-kicking with 27 majors. During the year he was acting vice-captain. In 1950 he returned to Western Australia and captain-coached Boulder City to a Goldfields National Football League premiership. Jones resumed his VFL career in 1951 but only appeared in the opening two rounds of the season. The next stage of his career was spent in South Australia, starting at Glenelg in 1952. He stopped playing football at the end of the year and concentrated on his police career, before returning briefly in 1956.
