Richard Einhorn
Richard Einhorn (born 1952) is an American composer of contemporary classical music. Einhorn graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Columbia University in 1975, and studied composition and electronic music with Jack Beeson, Vladimir Ussachevsky, and Mario Davidovsky. His best-known work, ''Voices of Light'' (1994) is an oratorio scored for soloists, chorus, orchestra and a bell. It was inspired by Carl Theodor Dreyer's silent film ''The Passion of Joan of Arc'' (1928), and it has been performed while the film is screened. He has also composed many horror and thriller film scores, including ''Shock Waves'' (1977), ''Don't Go in the House'' (1980), '' Eyes of a Stranger'' (1981), '' The Prowler'' (1981), '' Dead of Winter'' (1987), ''Blood Rage'' (1987), '' Sister, Sister'' (1987) and '' Dark Tower'' (1989). Shock Waves (film)
''Shock Waves'' is a 1977 American horror film written and directed by Ken Wiederhorn. The film is about a group of tourists who encounter aquatic Nazi zombies when they become shipwrecked. It stars Peter Cushing as a former SS commander, Brooke Adams as a tourist, and John Carradine as the captain of the tourists' boat. Plot The film opens as Rose is found drifting alone in a small rowboat. Two fishermen find it and pull her onto their own boat, barely alive and in a horrible state. Her voiceover indicates she had been rescued from some terrifying experience and the film's events are flashbacks of it. Young and pretty, Rose is part of a group of tourists on a small de recreo boat run by a crusty old captain and his handsome mate, Keith. Charles Darwin
Charles Robert Darwin ( ; 12 February 1809 – 19 April 1882) was an English naturalist, geologist, and biologist, widely known for his contributions to evolutionary biology. Opera

The Origin (Einhorn)
''The Origin'' is an opera/oratorio composed by Richard Einhorn to a libretto by Richard Einhorn and Catherine Barnett based on the writings of Charles Darwin. The oratorio takes its title from Darwin's 1859 ''On the Origin of Species''. The work was commissioned by the Artswego program and the Music Department of State University of New York at Oswego for the worldwide Darwin Bicentennial. ''The Origin'' had its world premiere on 6 February 2009 at the university's Waterman Theatre. Premiere performance The premiere performance of ''The Origin'' was conducted by Julie Pretzat and featured soprano Jacqueline Horner from the a cappella quartet, Anonymous 4; tenor Todd Graber; bass Eric Johnson; the women's vocal ensemble, Kitka; the SUNY Oswego College Choir; Oswego College-Community Orchestra; and the Oswego Festival Chorus.
