Richard Dibden
Richard Rockley Dibden (born 29 January 1975) is a former English cricketer. Dibden was born at Southampton in January 1975. He was educated at The Mountbatten School at Romsey, before matriculating to Loughborough University. Having played his early club cricket for Gosport Cricket Club, Dibden made his debut in first-class cricket for Hampshire against Yorkshire at Southampton in the 1995 County Championship. He made four further first-class appearances for Hampshire, all of which came in 1995. Playing as an off break bowler, he took six wickets for Hampshire at an average of 71.33, with best figures of 2 for 36. He also made a single first-class appearance for the British Universities cricket team against the touring Indians at Fenner's in 1996, with Dibden taking the wickets of Sanjay Manjrekar and Mohammad Azharuddin in the match. The County Ground in Southampton, England was a cricket and football ground. It was the home of Hampshire County Cricket Club from the 1885 English cricket season until the 2000 English cricket season. The ground also served as the home ground for Southampton Football Club from 1896 to 1898. Background Early Hampshire cricket teams had played first-class cricket in Southampton since 1842 at the Antelope Ground, under the supervision of Daniel Day. The ''Southern Daily Echo'', more commonly known as the ''Daily Echo'' or simply ''The Echo'', is a regional tabloid newspaper based in Southampton, covering the county of Hampshire in the United Kingdom. The 2002 Cheltenham and Gloucester Trophy was an English limited overs county cricket tournament which was held between 29 August 2001 and 31 August 2002. Mohammad Azharuddin (born 8 February 1963) is an Indian politician and a former international cricketer and former captain of India national cricket team. He is the working president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee and was the Member of Parliament (India), member of parliament for Moradabad (Lok Sabha Constituency), Moradabad. He played 99 Test cricket, Test matches and 334 One Day Internationals for the Indian national cricket team before his international career came to an end after he was found to have been involved in a South Africa cricket match fixing, match fixing scandal in 2000 and subsequently banned by the Board of Control for Cricket in India for life. Sanjay Manjrekar
Sanjay Vijay Manjrekar (born 12 July 1965) is an Indian cricket commentator and former cricketer. He played international cricket for India from 1987 until 1996 as a right-handed middle order batsman. Domestic career Manjrekar was born in Mangalore, in what was previously known Mysore State (present-day Karnataka) in southern India in Marathi family, on 12 July 1965, the son of Vijay Manjrekar, who made 55 Test match appearances for India between 1952 and 1965. As a schoolboy, he competed in the Cooch Behar Trophy between 1978 and 1982. Fenner's
Fenner's is Cambridge University Cricket Club's ground. History Cambridge University Cricket Club had previously played at two grounds in Cambridge, the University Ground and Parker's Piece. In 1846, Francis Fenner leased a former cherry orchard from Gonville and Caius College for the purpose of constructing a cricket ground. In 1848 he sub-let the ground to Cambridge University Cricket Club. Fenner's first hosted first-class cricket in 1848, with Cambridge University playing against the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC). A 40 foot wooden pavilion, painted blue, with a slated roof had been erected by the 1856 season. Fenner's is also home to the Cambridge MCC University side, a partnership between the University of Cambridge, Anglia Ruskin University and the Marylebone Cricket Club established ahead of the 2010 season.
