Ricardo Barreiros
Ricardo Jorge Silva Barreiros (born Sintra, 17 January 1982) is a Portuguese roller hockey player. He plays as a midfielder and as a forward. He's considered one of the best roller hockey players of nowadays. Career Barreiros played first at CD Paço d'Arcos, being promoted to the first category in 2001/02. He was assigned for Benfica for the season of 2004/2005. He played four seasons for the "Eagles" rink hockey team but never won the National Championship. He moved to Liceo da Coruña, in Spain, where he played from 2009/10 to 2011/12. Barreiros returned to Portugal to play for FC Porto in 2012/13. Barreiros is a usual player for Portugal, having his first game in 2003. He played in the Rink Hockey World Championship, in 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2013, and in the Rink Hockey European Championship, in 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2012. Rink Hockey World Championship
The World Skate Roller Hockey World Cup is the international championship for roller hockey organized by World Skate. The first event was held in 1936, in the city of Stuttgart. Since 1989, the World Championship tournament is held every two years on the odd years. Until 2017, it was organized by the Fédération Internationale de Roller Sports. As of 2019, following the merge between the FIRS and the International Skateboarding Federation, the World Cup is now an event of the larger World Roller Games. Through the 2019 World Cup, only five countries have taken the Roller Hockey World Cup: England winning two times, Portugal winning sixteen times, Spain winning seventeen times, Italy winning four times and Argentina winning five times. The 2008 Rink Hockey European Championship was the 48th edition of the Rink Hockey European Championship—the biennial rink hockey competition for European national teams, supervised by CERH—that took place in the Spanish city of Oviedo, at the local arena ''Palacio de los Deportes'' ( en, Sports Palace), on July 21–26, 2008. Roller Hockey (quad)
Roller hockey (in British English), rink hockey (in American English) or quad hockey is a team sport played on roller skates. It is the only quad skate team sport in existence where two teams face-off against one another at the same time. Two teams try to drive a hard ball with their sticks into the opposing teams' goalnet. Each team has five players on the rink at a time, four of whom are skaters and one who is the goalkeeper. The ball can only be put in motion by a stick, not the skate, otherwise a foul will be stated. The game has two 25-minute halves, with 15-minute halftime intermission, plus up to two 5-minute golden goal (a.k.a. "sudden death") periods to settle ties with the clock stopping when the ball becomes dead. If the tie persists, a penalty shootout will determine the winner.
