Rhonda Burchmore
Rhonda Suzanne Burchmore OAM (born 15 May 1960) is an Australian entertainer. Career Burchmore appeared as Kate in the 1982 film, '' The Pirate Movie''. Burchmore gave her first Australian theatre performance in the 1988 production of '' Sugar Babies'' opposite Garry McDonald and Broadway performer Eddie Bracken. Later that year, she had a role in the West End production of ''Sugar Babies'' opposite Mickey Rooney and Ann Miller. Whilst in the U.K, Burchmore was cast in the revival of ''Stop the World – I Want to Get Off'' as well as a role in ''Hot Shoe Shuffle''. In 1997, Burchmore opened Melbourne's Crown Casino starring in ''Red Hot & Rhonda''. Burchmore had a role of Nadine Hale in Tommy Tune's stage version of Irving Berlin's '' Easter Parade'', slated for Broadway but eventually the project stalled. Helpmann Awards
The Helpmann Awards are accolades for live entertainment and performing arts in Australia, presented by industry group Live Live Performance Australia (LPA) since 2001. The annual awards recognise achievements in the disciplines of musical theatre, contemporary music, comedy, opera, classical music, theatre, dance and physical theatre. Over forty awards are given to productions, festivals and concerts, and for individuals for their work in performance, direction, choreography, lighting, sound, music, costume and scenic design. Easter Parade (film)
''Easter Parade'' is a 1948 American Technicolor musical film starring Judy Garland, Fred Astaire, Peter Lawford and Ann Miller. The music by Irving Berlin includes some of Astaire and Garland's best-known songs, including " Easter Parade", " Steppin' Out with My Baby", and " We're a Couple of Swells". Gene Kelly was originally cast opposite Judy Garland, but he broke his ankle. The part was then offered to Fred Astaire, who had retired two years earlier. Astaire, who was very eager to work again, consulted Kelly about the offer, and Kelly was happy to support his decision to take the role. Garland and Astaire were a successful team, and Astaire was restored to his status as a top MGM star. Trevor Ashley
Trevor Ashley (born 27 February 1980) is an Australian musical theatre actor, cabaret and drag artist based in Sydney. He also has appeared on television in "The Very Trevor Ashley Show" Early life Ashley grew up in the south of Sydney and studied at the Shopfront a contemporary theatre. There he worked with Errol Bray, John Du Feu and playwright Hilary Bell. He appeared in ''Alice'' with Paul Capsis, and in ''Peter Pan'' with screen actor Bryan Brown. He also played Passepartout in their production of '' Around the World in Eighty Days''. Ashley attended Sydney Technical High School where he studied music and drama, played in the school bands and began writing orchestrations and arrangements. ''Guys and Dolls'' is a musical with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows. It is based on "The Idyll of Miss Sarah Brown" (1933) and "Blood Pressure", which are two short stories by Damon Runyon, and also borrows characters and plot elements from other Runyon stories, such as "Pick the Winner". The show premiered on Broadway in 1950, where it ran for 1,200 performances and won the Tony Award for Best Musical.
